Steel Plate Armor Guaranteed Locations[edit]

Just thought I'd point out 2 guaranteed locations for steel plate armor, one of which includes guantlets and boots as well. The first is Uthgerd the Unbroken. Her default armor is all steel plate (minus the helmet) which is lootable when she's dead. I'll let you decide how you let/make that happen. If you're particularly attached to her for some reason or other, location 2 is the Black Briar Lodge. All of the bodyguards/mercenaries there are wearing steel plate armor (no gauntlets, boots or helmet though). These situations are both available from game start (i.e. level one). When playing a heavy armor character, Promises to Keep is usually one of the first quests I do for this purpose (and a free horse). kolokoL 05:49, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

[Minor Spoiler] Also if you have the Dawnguard add-on, the steel plate gauntlets and boots can be looted off of Tolan when you find his dead body in Dimhollow Crypt Telrav (talk) 05:58, 25 January 2015 (GMT)

Nordic Weapons[edit]

The nordic weapons are already covered in Dragonborn:Nordic, and that's where they belong (in my opinion). Shouldn't we remove them from here? SarthesArai (talk) 10:53, 31 March 2013 (GMT)

The Advanced Armors article is for covering items that can be crafted with this perk, so the redundancy is understandable. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 15:09, 31 March 2013 (GMT)

What are the Delta and Ratio sections?[edit]

Can someone explain what the delta and ratio section in the table is all about? --71.160.177.64 19:00, 12 July 2013 (GMT)

The ratio is the weight or value of the crafted item divided by the total weight or value of the materials needed to craft that item. The delta is the same thing, but instead of dividing we minus it. --Quill-Tail? ! 19:23, 12 July 2013 (GMT)
Thanks, that makes sense now.--71.160.177.64 03:49, 13 July 2013 (GMT)

Daedric Text on Steel Plate Armor[edit]

Has anyone else noticed? There's some on the belt medallions and some more on the part above the visor. 211.30.37.216 08:26, 6 April 2014 (GMT)

It says NORDPLATE NORDPLATE, no joke. No idea why it's written in Daedric instead of Dragon alphabet (like in the word walls), though.--66.102.8.248 07:57, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Nordic Armor Page[edit]

The Nordic armor has its own page. We should either delete it, or remove all mention of it here. 71.224.204.238 04:28, 30 May 2014 (GMT)

Yes this has also been noted above for Nordic Weapons, however the redundancy is understandable as this page is for advanced armors and items that can be crafted with this perk, so it needs to be included here as well as having it's own page. Biffa (talk) 10:35, 30 May 2014 (GMT)

More armors benefited[edit]

I realize they aren't craftable, but I wonder if maybe there shouldn't be a note somewhere on this page that points out that the Advanced Armors Smithing perk also works on doubling the improvements to Ahzidal's armor, the Dawnguard armor (both heavy and light), the regular Falmor armor, Falmor Heavy Armor, Falmor Hardened Armor, the Morag Tong armor, the Vampire armor and the Vampire Royal armor sets. The only other armors that I can think of that benefit from smithing perks but aren't craftable are the Ancient Falmor Armor (Elven) and the Dragon Priest Masks (Daedric). Scaled Helmet Bug[edit]

I think it should be mentioned, that the scaled helmet aswell as the hide helmet cause male characters to adapt a female posture and walking animation.Cyreon Anaedian (talk) 15:25, 13 January 2020 (GMT)
