A Drainspell Bow

A Drainspell Bow is a translucent Supple Ancient Nord Bow wielded by some of the ghostly draugr found within Labyrinthian. It is a part of a set of similar phantom weapons, alongside the Drainblood Battleaxe and Drainheart Sword. Its physical appearance would be identical to the mundane version of this weapon were it not for its spectral look and the particles that flow out of it while moving with it equipped. A Drainspell Bow is enchanted to absorb Magicka for fifteen points upon hit. It is not possible to improve this weapon.

Bugs

• The weapon cannot be tempered.
  • The Unofficial Skyrim Patch, version 1.0, addresses this issue. It can now be tempered using ectoplasm, and it now benefits from and requires the Dwarven Smithing perk.
• A Drainblood Bow's enchantment is too costly for its charge to allow for more than one use of its enchantment's ability. Its enchantment was most likely supposed to have a similar charge to that of the Drainheart Sword, which can be used 25 times before needing to be recharged.
  • The Unofficial Skyrim Patch, version 1.31, addresses this issue. (details) The enchantment cost is lowered to 1.
