Higher Level[edit]

Felldew does lower your stats but does it definitely do it in a way that means you can raise them above the maximum? Is it really possible to go up a level because of the drop? This needs a bit of verification. --RpehTalk 13:47, 2 October 2007 (EDT)

This is verified on Xbox360 at least. The attributes dropped by the effect of Felldew does allow player to go up more levels. And once the effect of Felldew is cured, the increased attributes as the result of these levels up will still stay with the player, which means, one can indeed raised attributes above the maximum by using this method. --Terry 18:52, 10 November 2007 (EDT)

Glitch[edit]

Does anyone know anything more about the "graphics glitch" that lets you enter the burrows without being under the effects of Felldew? I ate the Felldew, but then left to go level up because I didn't know I had to go through the membrane in 'Euphoria' state specifically. I'm on the 360, so I can't enter console commands, and don't really want to reload an earlier save. Krenn 21:12, 21 June 2008 (EDT)

I added a verification tag to this (I accidentally checked the minor edit flag when saving... oops.) It's not recreatable. It may have been a one-time Havok collision glitch (true "glitches" are random and unrecreatable; bugs are consistent.) I tried setting the player's speed to 255, acrobatics to 255, and scale (yes, you can do that) to 0.5 so the player was half the size and still I could not even get within roughly a foot of the membrane (the collision is this far away from it.) Tried running at it, jumping at it, sneak mode, tried the center, both edges on the right side and the left side, all with a half-sized player. So it's unlikely to work with a full-sized one. Any confirmations of this working reliably/repeatably? Otherwise it should go. Kivan 15:35, 24 June 2008 (EDT)
Agreed. I just spent several minutes jumping around, walking, running and sneaking and couldn't manage it. I've now removed the bug from the page. –RpehTCE 09:05, 28 June 2008 (EDT)

Glitch with Elytra[edit]

I found a graphical glitch on the 360 when you kill an Elytra. Sometimes, the Elytra's head will uncontrollably shake. Did anyone see this glitch?

Cgseif323 14:56, 14 July 2008 (EDT)

I don't think that's unique to the 360, I can recall several instances where I killed one on a curved plane and either it's entire body, or at least parts of it were spazzing a lot until the thing settled. It's just the phyics engine being retarded. Hopefully they use a better one in future games, but keep in mind that Oblivion is Bethesdas first implementation of ragdoll physics, at least as far as the TES series goes. -- J5689 12:54, 28 July 2008 (EDT)

It needs maps[edit]

I have no idea where to go, I've made it to maybe the third area and I just keep hitting dead ends and getting weaker. If someone could put maps of the areas on this article, I would greatly appreciate it. -- J5689 12:58, 28 July 2008 (EDT)

Maps go on the location page. Here. –RpehTCE 13:24, 28 July 2008 (EDT)

Addiction phase needs verification[edit]

When I played this on the GOTY PS3 there were three phases to the addiction with the final one causing 15 points of reduction to attributes, not the ten as mentioned in the article. Also I was unable to increase level because the underlying skills (which did not decrease) were already at 100. --TheOtherZack 4.246.235.167 13:14, 27 December 2008 (EST)

Done - thanks for pointing that out. The Felldew article has all the correct details. –RpehTCE 05:48, 1 January 2009 (EST)

tcl solution revert[edit]

Why I reverted this edit:

  1. On the contrary of what is claimed, I believe the tcl is more complicated. You need to make sure you have not selected anything in the console for the command to work properly, you have to disable it again and you must remember to toggle the collision at a good spot.
  2. Of the three options, this options interrupts the normal gameplay the most. While the first options simply solves the spawning problem (you still have to kill the Elytra yourself) the second skips that step by automatically adding the ingredient to your inventory. The reverted option even skips the requirement of Felldew for the membrane to open. Experience is that the solutions that interrupt the normal gameplay the most generally have more often a negative impact later in the quest than the solutions that try to follow the normal gameplay as much as possible.
  3. In the articles we try to find the line between offering multiple solutions to players and not providing too much (to prevent confusion, and to limit the chance the most viable solutions are not visible enough to the reader). I think this applies in this case.

Question[edit]

Can you get addicted to felldew before you start the quest Addiction? — Unsigned comment by Nordickie (talkcontribs) on 3 December 2009

Good question. But no, you can't get addicted before starting this question. There is a specific check against that in the addiction script. --Timenn-<talk> 17:24, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

What do you specifically need to enter?[edit]

So around level 30 I started this quest and got some felldew so that I could improve my attributes over 100. I ate it then and have just come back at level 51 to activate the chalice. However I have found that I cannot enter. So do you need euphoria to enter? Withdrawal alone doesn't seem to cut it. Here's my problem, at level 30 I found a hatchling with some felldew. Foolishly I did not duplicate it and now I can't seem to find another.

Do you mean you cannot reach the door to enter Dunroot Burrow? If so, the only way for the membrane in front of it to open is to kill the Elytra in front of the entrance, take the Felldew, and activate the membrane. --SerCenKing Talk 08:37, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Mini Exploit at the Entrance?[edit]

This may or may not be related to the USIP. Kill an Elytra at the entrance, then wander around the area for a while (an hour game time?) and it will respawn. It will always carry a Felldew potion, so repeating this can net a good supply. Holding a fair bit of inventory can result in a hard time of Felldew Addiction as it affects carrying capacity. To begin with, 10 potions were enough to explore the entire dungeon, as it appears only 1 in 4 Elytra carry it.--Lmstearn (talk) 06:58, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

If you have to use the console to spawn in the first Elytra, does it not have the quick-respawn script?[edit]

The Elytra Hatchling that is supposed to be outside the door to Dunroot Barrow didn't show up in my game, so I used the console command noted in the Bugs section to spawn it in. I killed it and got the Felldew. I then walked around outside the barrow for a few minutes (in-game) to see if it would respawn; it didn't. I then waited an hour (in-game) to see if it would respawn; it still didn't. I am on PC, 1.2.0416, Game of the Year edition, installed from retail disc.

I think I've seen a general note, maybe on the Console page, that if you spawn in an NPC manually using the console, the associated scripts may not run. If that's true and reproducible in this particular case, it might be good to note it in the Notes or Bugs section. 73.3.58.200 08:09, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
