Criteria for Start[edit]

I'm having trouble deriving the criteria required for this quest to start. Here's what I am thinking so far:

  • To begin this quest, you will need to enter a safe area after reaching Level 3. Safe Areas are areas of a zone, such as settlements, which you can log out from without encountering the logout timer. At this stage of the game, the nearest safe zones are likely to be Daggerfall, Vulkhel Guard and Davon's Watch.

If anyone has seen the Prophet turn up somewhere else for this quest, it would be good to record it here so we can compare it with those already listed. For example, I know people who have said he turned up for them on Betnikh, but I don't know where, as he never did for me. --Enodoc (talk) 21:13, 7 April 2014 (GMT)

I believe my level 4 character was all the way in the rift exploring when I received this quest. I can double check though. Jeancey (talk) 21:26, 7 April 2014 (GMT)
My lvl 3 character woke up in Daggerfall after Soul Shriven in Coldharbour. On lvls 3 and 4 he spent most of his time in Daggerfall, only leaving the town to explore the vicinity. However, the Prophet appeared at the very moment my character reached lvl 5, in the middle of a fight against Bloodthorn Cultists in Lerineaux Manor. I wonder what prevented him from appearing before. Any similar experiences? --Holomay (talk) 18:25, 22 August 2014 (GMT)
I wonder if they changed it so that he now only appears at Lvl 5. I always thought it should be 5 anyway, but does it still get listed as 3 in the Journal? Is that manor one of the houses in Daggerfall? It's been a while since I've been there. We would need to test this in AD and EP as well to see whether the same occurs. --Enodoc (talk) 19:58, 22 August 2014 (GMT)
Yes, it's still listed as lvl 3 in the journal though it seems that reaching lvl 5 is the trigger. But since most characters leave Coldharbour on lvl 3 (those who chose the skip option will always have lvl 3, right?) the lvl 5 trigger seems to make more sense anyway - otherwise the Prophet would appear too soon again?! The Lerineaux Manor is the house in Daggerfall which cannot be entered before starting Blood and the Crescent Moon, so I don't think the location has anything to do with the Prophet's appearance. He literally appeared in the middle of the fight, right between my character, other player characters and the Cultists. I think we have to do more tests to figure out the start criteria ... --Holomay (talk) 09:35, 23 August 2014 (GMT)

() Now that solo instances scale up, we should check again to see what this quest first appears as in the Journal. And also see if the Journal level of all Main Story quests goes up with you. --Enodoc (talk) 10:25, 19 December 2014 (GMT)
