Creatures? Really?[edit]

They cannot be fought, at least according to the article. Are they killable at all, outside of the water? They seem like a mechanical effect if there is nothing in the Elder Scrolls Online universe that can harm 'em.

I think there should be a Creation Kit released so we can actually find out for real.

Questions, questions, questions....... DG#:) 21:32, 13 November 2014 (GMT)

Yeah, they can't be killed at all, they only serve as a "barrier" so you can't, for example, swim from Stonefalls to Vvardenfell. --Vordur Steel-Hammer (TINV1K) 21:40, 13 November 2014 (GMT)
How are you positive they can't be killed "at all"? Have you tested it in game if they can be killed with an area attack like the Fire Ball spell in Skyrim when on the coast? Since there aren't any console commands or mods as such, I guess only time will tell. Providing that the game code is located somewhere, it will most likely contain an answer. But right now I don't think we can "officially"' test it (putting it mildly). Unfortunately I don't have the Elder Scrolls Online just so you know now. DG#:) 22:02, 13 November 2014 (GMT)
They can't even be targeted, and I haven't ever seen a thing that can be killed but not targeted in ESO. As for trying area attacks - slaughterfish disappear as soon as you leave their "territory" or go out of the water. However, if I remember correctly, slaughterfish can be sometimes caught when fishing, which is *technically* a form of killing them (but in terms of game mechanics these have nothing to do with the ones that eat you in water). --Vordur Steel-Hammer (TINV1K) 22:14, 13 November 2014 (GMT)
They basically don't really "exist". When you pass a certain point when swimming into open water, the water writhes about and you lose health until you leave the area or die trying. So yes, they just seem to be an effect. What you catch while fishing is technically a different entity, but lore-wise is supposed to be the same thing. --Enodoc (talk) 22:45, 13 November 2014 (GMT)
Exactly what I was saying. --Vordur Steel-Hammer (TINV1K) 23:19, 13 November 2014 (GMT)
Can't we use restore health and levitation potions to circumvent that matter? And, how much hps (health per sec) does the game drain for swimming to Stonefalls to Vvandenfell? DG#:) 18:00, 17 November 2014 (GMT)
There are no levitation potions, and there isn't enough restore health in the world to heal you from the damage. There is no way around it. Jeancey (talk) 01:40, 18 November 2014 (GMT)
What about using an invincibility cheat to circumvent that matter? 2.218.178.193 19:05, 18 November 2014 (GMT)
There are no cheats in ESO, as this could disrupt the game for other players. Any method of circumventing this environmental effect would be considered an exploit, would be patched as soon as possible, and may even result in an account being banned for a period of time. --Enodoc (talk) 09:19, 19 November 2014 (GMT)
If slaughterfish are an "effect" then that means their health will have to be put as N/A won't it (and practically anything else in the infobox for the matter)? Is there a not a "machine"/"robot"-specific infobox? Haha :) ! Dragon Guard  (talk) 22:35, 10 January 2015 (GMT)
