"Getting credit for the dungeons"[edit]

I'm not sure how old the edit is that states that you have to beat the final boss of the dungeon to recieve credit (and change the color of the map marker). Unlike delves, public dungeons seem to all have a specific objective, and are not always reliant upon beating one or all of the bosses. For example, if I remember this correctly, the Lost City of the Na-Totambu's objective is completed on finding a dead man's body with a note, and talking to his wife in Sentinel. The bosses are there, but you don't need to fight them to "clear" the dungeon. Schiffy(Talk) 20:43, 24 August 2015 (UTC)

Most (if not all) public dungeons have two quests that start within, and completing them is what marks the location as complete. Admittedly, a lot of those quests involve defeating a final boss of some kind, but with champions and group challenges in the mix the term "boss" can certainly be confusing in this context. —Legoless (talk) 20:54, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
I think it was a misconception or bit of leftover text from when the article was split from Delves. It doesn't apply to Public Dungeons. --Enodoc (talk) 08:10, 25 August 2015 (UTC)

Ordering of places[edit]

I noticed that Eain reordered the zones and the dungeons within them on this page to be in level order, instead of alphabetical order. While this might be more useful due to the fact that these dungeons are not instanced or scaled, it might still be good to keep them in alphabetical order for clarity - especially because places will no longer have meaningful level orders with the release of One Tamriel. Because of this I think it should be changed back to alphabetical order. This is pretty minor and I'll probably just change it back if there are no major objections, but if there's some good reason to have it ordered by level it should probably stay. Yeah, I've undone that. —Legoless (talk) 09:17, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
It's not just level order, it's quest order as well. I figured it'd be more intuitive for most users that way. Eain (talk) 15:25, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
All of our place lists are alphabetical, and storyline order is even less relevant now with the release of One Tamriel. If the Public Dungeons and their related quests were actually intended to be done in a certain order it might be worth considering (similar to how we treat Undaunted quests), but I can't see any reason to deviate here. —Legoless (talk) 16:19, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
Okay, I see! Eain (talk) 16:27, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
I expect this kind of thing to occur often, mainly because for the Dominion zones, the order is the same, so lots of editors are likely to look at these lists, see that AD zones seem to be sorted by game-order, while DC and EP are not. Personally, I'd favor game-order, even when OT comes out, because that's the order you're expected to do them in, and OT will not change that. It will give you the option to do them in any order, but the NPCs will still direct you to do them in the original proscribed order. (Note that alliance-wide achievements still typically list them in game-order as well, and I doubt that this is changing.) However, I expect I am in the minority in this opinion. As a result, these kind of changes from new editors are likely to be fairly common. I don't know if maybe a comment in the page code could be added instructing people not to do that would be appropriate? It would have to be done on dozens of pages, because there are MANY places where the zones are listed. — TheRealLurlock (talk) 17:04, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
