Not random[edit]

The recipes are NOT random. There are two pairs of recipes that alternate until you change your skill level. These pairs of recipes may be different based on alliance.

If someone could list these, that would be extremely helpful. That's what I came here looking for. 208.104.29.124 12:24, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

I am aware that for proficiency 6 for example, only 6 out of the 12 V5 greens are ever needed, so I could list those out. I won't "pair' them up per se but I can try to let people know that these are the recipes that have come up before, so if you have them you should have no problem completing the writ. I got "Chicken Breast" and I am AD. (lvl 1 proficiency). — Unsigned comment by 73.178.81.64 (talk) at 20:23 on 13 October 2015 (UTC)

Tied to Adventuring Level?[edit]

I'm on Recipe Improvement 6 but have gotten no further than writs for RE4, I can only imagine this is because I am not at a VR level yet. Can anyone confirm when level 5 and 6 writs become available? Sioneld (talk) 07:17, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

What character level are you now? As it says on the page, If you have not yet unlocked Coldharbour or Craglorn, you will be required to produce a lower-level item than your current rank would otherwise require. Craglorn for Tier 6 writs unlocks at VR1; I'm not entirely sure when you start getting Tier 5 writs though, as there are numerous different requirements for unlocking Coldharbour. --Enodoc (talk) 10:14, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
Ah, sorry I missed that. Yeah I haven't unlocked those areas yet. Sioneld (talk) 01:18, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

Tier 6 Recipes for Orsinium post-OT[edit]

Since One Tamriel, the recipes that previously had to be turned in at the Orsinium quartermaster have now been moved to Belkarth. What I don't know and can't test (since I do have Orsinium) is if there's still any difference in writs for people who do or do not have access to Orsinium. Are the newer Orsinium writs still given out to players without access to Orsinium? Can the recipes be purchased at Chefs for both the pre- and post-Orsinium writs? I already have all the recipes on all my characters, so this is another thing I can't test myself. — TheRealLurlock (talk) 03:37, 20 January 2017 (UTC)

There appears to be no difference for writs whether you own Orsinium or not anymore. Tier 6 writs will now pull from the six combinations listed under Recipe Improvement 6. (This applies to other profession writs as well.) Contraptions (talk) 04:41, 20 January 2017 (UTC)

Buying Recipes[edit]

Could we please add the cost of buying the Provisioning Writ recipes from NPC Vendors? It would be useful to have this information for comparison with prices at Guild Traders. Thanks! baratron (talk) 04:27, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

Change in needed recipes at Provisioner VII[edit]

Can anyone else verify this? I remember seeing patch notes where it said they made the Provisioner writs more "consequent" or something like that. I skimmed over the last year's patch notes and couldn't find it though. Anyway I haven't needed these in a long time (I usually crafted a batch of 100 and banked them, and now I have a lot more of these than the others): Arenthian Brandy, Argonian Saddle-Cured Rabbit, Fresh Apples and Eidar Cheese, Khenarthi's Wing Chai, Pickled Carrot Slurry, Sipping Imga Tonic. Howellq (talk) 12:05, 17 October 2018 (UTC)

Yep, its halfed to 3 possible combos, not 6. I'll remove them. --Jimeee (talk) 12:28, 17 October 2018 (UTC)
I looked for this in the patch notes to verify, and I think it's this line in the v4.1.5 notes: "Fixed an issue resulting in Provisioning Writs being somewhat unpredictable on what they required during the week." Muffinmancer (talk) 07:19, 19 October 2018 (UTC)

Are Provision Writ recipes alliance-dependent?[edit]

Some players in-game were saying recently that the specific foods & drinks required for provisioning writs used to be alliance-dependent but no longer are, and others disagreed, but I couldn't find any indication of this. Does anyone know of any documentation of this? --Xyzzy Talk 12:58, 21 July 2023 (UTC)
