Inn Rooms[edit]

There are also some small changes to the interiors of certain inns like the Rosy Lion. Should we also include those here as well? Contraptions (talk) 11:03, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

I don't see why not. —Legoless (talk) 13:24, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
It was rather hard to get pictures of those, but I do have interior shots of each of the rooms pre-12 that has become a "Room", if it was possible to get in them (some of them were always locked). I don't have any post-12 shots yet though, as a picture of a closed door isn't really very useful. --Enodoc (talk) 14:02, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

Humblemud and The Ample Domicile[edit]

Are the wrong way around. I tried to move them but got stuck because the destination already exists (Humblemud is currently stuck at Online:Hold). Can someone please complete the swap? Thanks! --Enodoc (talk) 00:29, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

And the screenshot need to be swapped too. The page content is now all correct, they just need the names swapping. --Enodoc (talk) 00:43, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
Done. Is Online:Shadowfen correct now? —Legoless (talk) 00:50, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
Hmm... some weird stuff going on with the images (File:ON-place-Humblemud.jpg is labelled as a redirect now??) but they should be correct. —Legoless (talk) 00:58, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
Great, thanks! I think I fixed the odd Humblemud redirect; I don't know if we need to keep all the other old image redirects, but it may be worth keeping some of the old page redirects as the houses have default names as well (Cliffside's default name is "Marbruk House", for example). Yeah, Shadowfen is correct now. --Enodoc (talk) 01:37, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
That's surprising, given that the description for The Ample Domicile has a quote from Esqoo of Dhalmora, whose house is next door to Humblemud? Unless the quotes are incorrect on the PTS notes? I wonder if they screwed something up somewhere? — TheRealLurlock (talk) 02:53, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
I assume it's just a mixup, having the names the other way around doesn't make much sense when you take price and size into account. Nothing ample about the hut in Dhalmora. —Legoless (talk) 03:35, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
Esqoo doesn't need to visit his next door neighbour, he lives there anyway! Besides, the Dhalmora House doesn't have a palisade. --Enodoc (talk) 10:19, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

Requirements[edit]

Where should we include the requirements needed to purchase each house (when buying with gold)? On the respective house page, or to add a column here? Tib (talk) 10:46, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

Probably on the house page. This table is a bit full already. If there's a common theme to the requirements though, it can be mentioned in the text on this page. --Enodoc (talk) 11:47, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
Agree, I think I'll add what little info I have on the house pages, and it can always be moved around. Tib (talk) 16:22, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
I added a column with what little information I know about this, feel free to fill it in as you discover more. — TheRealLurlock (talk) 17:03, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
I don't think that works. The table is now too wide for narrow screens and is breaking the page formatting. --Enodoc (talk) 17:33, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, even the short achievement names are stretching out the individual rows, and most of these houses have multiple requirements. Some also need a certain degree of nuance; the starting rooms can either be bought or earned on an alt, and the Crown Store houses have no requirements. In fact, it seems like any house can be bought with Crowns without meeting any of the requirements. That info isn't very easy to summarise here, and the table is already very bloated with the columns for style, alliance, etc. —Legoless (talk) 17:37, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
We could get rid of the Update column soon too, to trim it down a bit, as that info's not really relevant. We can just put that on the house pages. --Enodoc (talk) 17:48, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, those columns are only there to preserve the information when I converted this page to use a table. I'm not sure the Update column was ever really that useful, I just kept it there so the information wasn't lost. Now that the locations all have their own pages, that can be removed to make room for the more relevant stuff. Alliance, Update, and Style could all be removed. Possibly even Size, since you can almost get that just by sorting by price. But the Requirements really should stay on this page for comparative purposes. — TheRealLurlock (talk) 17:59, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
I think the requirements can be summarised in the text at the top, with full details on the individual pages. That way, they don't need to be in the table. From what I can tell, each house requires completion of the housing introductory quest and one of the appropriate zone's story achievements. --Enodoc (talk) 18:14, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
I may be wrong about this, but it's starting to seem (based just on Tib's recent edits) like the A Friend In Need quest is required for all houses (at least to purchase with gold)? If that's the case we can just mention it at the beginning and not in the Requirements column, saving some space. Otherwise, it seems (so far) like it's just one achievement required for each location, so that's not too bad. — TheRealLurlock (talk) 15:48, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

Split Inn Rooms[edit]

The inn rooms are marked on the overworld map the same as any of the other houses. It would probably be simplest to give them separate place pages, since they're mechanically distinct from the buildings that they're found in (marked on the map, instanced, fast travel enabled, etc). The only problem is that the Daggerfall and Auridon rooms are named identically to the building. —Legoless (talk) 05:16, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

Yeah, I was planning on doing that once we figured out the proper names for those pages. Trying to cram both the Inn and Room information on the same page would just be clumsy. I'd suggest creating a page with "(room)" after the name, and either renaming the Inn pages with "(inn)" or simply adding a hatnote on the top to direct people to the room pages. (Generally, if a term refers to both a large thing and a small section of that thing, the larger thing gets the default name.) — TheRealLurlock (talk) 07:53, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
I've already mentioned this as feedback in the feedback thread, so hopefully they'll do something about it. The Rosy Lion one is actually the only issue, as the Mara's Kiss one is already called "Mara's Kiss Inn Room" on the door, so we can just use that name. --Enodoc (talk) 10:09, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

Earthtear Cavern exterior[edit]

It would be nice to get a before/after image of the entrance area like we did for other houses. It seems that they added some ruins and a flight of stairs there. Contraptions (talk) 08:53, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

Perhaps handy info to include in the table here? (Number of furnishings allowed in each house.)[edit]

Not sure if it's alright to offer a suggestion for the housing chart here, but personally I feel like it would be handy if there was a section added to the table that would list the number of furnishings allowed in each of the houses. Is this something that anyone else feels would be worthwhile information to add on here? If so, I'd be glad to grab the information and go ahead and add it onto here. (My apologies if asking about this is either not permitted or is frowned upon.) Cheers to you all. Morokei (talk) 19:21, 20 June 2017 (UTC)

The table on this page is already pretty squished, and furniture numbers vary due to type and ESO Plus. All the info is contained in the infobox on the individual pages. My suggestion would be to use the Size column for that info, since all houses of a similar size have identical furniture numbers. Maybe we could add a mumbers key for each of the sizes to this page. —Legoless (talk) 20:10, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
Yeah we can't fit any more columns in the existing table, but we could have a separate size guide table giving details of the furnishings, trophies, collectibles and player cap for each size. --Enodoc (talk) 08:40, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

How much space is in each house?[edit]

Why is there no comparison between how much space is in each house before and after the default "furnished" option? — Unsigned comment by 67.172.79.247 (talk) at 09:48 on 18 June 2018

Not too many have asked that for that so far (only the above section as far as I know), so simply nobody got around to it. We probably could make another page comparing the sizes and player cap so forth, as suggested above, if anyone feels like doing so. In the meantime, if you want to know the number, each house’s page has its total capacity, as well as a list of the exact furnishings that come in the furnished version - the number of furnishings in each category is already counted, so you just need to add the categories. For instance, for Daggerfall Overlook, it has a capacity of 350 (700 with ESO Plus), and comes with 41 furnishings whether furnished or unfurnished (22 conservatory + 19 lighting), and 294 more when furnished. This is good information to have, and I’ve added the totals to the Daggerfall Overlook page now if you’re interested. If you’d like to add the other houses’ totals like that too, feel free! (Otherwise I might just get to it once I’m on an actual computer.) :) ~ Alarra (talkcontribs) 16:46, 18 June 2018 (UTC)

Imperial Edition requirements[edit]

Hi there. Can we please get the main table updated so that the Imperial Edition requirements are removed from Domus Phrasticus and Cyrodilic Jungle House? I tried to do this myself but couldn't figure out how to do it. Thanks! (6thHouseBellHammer (talk) 05:56, 25 November 2018 (UTC))

Hello. It certainly can be done. The information in this page's table is loaded from the requirements parameter on each individual house page for display; this is the reason you could not find the information on this page. Thus, the requirement has to be removed from each individual house page. This system was presumably established for an occurrence such as this. — J. J. Fullerton talk﴿ 06:06, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for the help - I made the changes and was able to remove the Imperial Edition requirements for those two houses. - 6thHouseBellHammer (talk) 10:23, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
