I've walked many winding forest trails,
Followed tracks without pause or thought.
But in all my restless journeys, dear,
Yours is the only path I've ever sought.

We used to amble side-by-side,
Your hand fit mine like a well-worn glove.
But this familiar path looks different now,
And I can't recall the face of my one love.

What once was clear is almost gone,
Like the fading of a favorite song.
I'll walk these paths that fork and bend
Until I wander home again.

I used to know this weary road,
Every tree and rock that marked the way.
But time has passed and things have changed,
Memories slip and soon decay.

Thoughts of you guide me through the wood.
Like the fleeting specter of the coming dawn.
But once I reach our cherished spot.
