If you speak to him before starting Keeper of the Fate, he will say:

"We traveled for days to make this pilgrimage. Days! And they had the audacity to send us away? It's disrespectful to us and our ancestors! The Temple will hear of this!"

Speaking to him after beginning the quest will have him encourage you to complete it:

"Did I hear that correctly? You're going to the Necropolis of Necrom? Well, make sure you let that rude prelate know that I'm going to report his lack of decency to the Ordinators at the Temple!"
