If you manage to talk to her while you are fighting Garron she will tell you to focus on the necromancer, "I'll never get free if you don't handle that necromancer first! Kill Garron before he kills you!"

Once Garron is dead, she will call out to you.

Investigator Lienne: "Over here! Come help me!"
"You got here just in time.
But I know you didn't come in with the investigation team. Who are you?"
Investigator Irnand sent me to handle the situation.
"Another five minutes and I would have been an undead. Thanks for being prompt.
Help me with these bindings? You've got work ahead of you, if you're here to help."
I'll free you.

When she's freed she will explain what is really going on in the sewer.

"Garron isn't leading this whoreson lot. It's a pair of nobles, siblings by the name of Varaine and Allene Pellingare.
They're not going to give up without a fight."
What are the Pellingares doing down here?
"They've raised an army—plenty for you and me to handle, but they've gotten it in their heads that they'll storm the royal district and take over the city with it.
Who knows what kind of power Garron promised them."
I'll find the Pellingares and defeat them.
"You have my thanks. With your help, we may have the situation contained before the public catches wind.
I'll head back to the city, find the Pellingare head and let him know what's happening. Maybe get you some armed assistance."

Once Allene is killed, Investigator Lienne will arrive with Master Pellingare in tow.

Investigator Lienne: "There's your proof, Master Pellingare. It was your children responsible for this madness."
Master Pellingare: "Allene! No!"
<He runs up to the body.>
Master Pellingare: "My poor daughter. Why did you do this?"

You can then talk to Lienne.

"Master Pellingare wouldn't believe me when I told him his son and daughter were plotting to attack this city.
He no longer has a choice."
What's next?
"Our investigation is just beginning. I hope the elder Pellingare isn't implicated, as well.
Today is a dark one for our city. But it would've been worse if you hadn't gotten involved."

After receiving a reward, you can ask her some follow-up questions.

"The Pellingares are one of the most esteemed families in Wayrest. Or, they were, before today. They've a long history of lawmakers and politicians in their line. Such a waste."
Why did they do this?
"A question we'll be asking many times as we investigate the breadth of their conspiracy against Wayrest.
From what I've heard, the Pellingare children were raised under the mentorship of Investigator Garron. Could've been his influence."
What will happen to Master Pellingare?
"Nothing—if the investigation proves he's done nothing wrong. Irnand and I have only implicated his children.
The city and the Master's fellow nobles will no doubt want this ended as quickly as possible. But …."
But?
"But the Wayrest Guard lost a lot of lives today.
I'm going to make sure justice is done."
Is Irnand all right?
"He took a blade to the midsection, but he'll survive—and he sends his thanks. We both do.
There's no telling the chaos that would have erupted in the city streets if you hadn't stopped the Pellingares."
