Gamemasters (or GMs) are employees of ZeniMax Online Studios responsible for moderating Elder Scrolls Online. They will reply to support tickets, either by email or through an in-game Gamemaster chat window. Occasionally Gamemasters can be seen as characters in-game, usually to kill bots, although this became much less common after release.
Gamemasters can be identified in chat by the following icon: 
. Their characters are always ethereal, level 50, named "Gamemaster [name]", and wearing white robes.

- The term "Gamemaster" is common in MMOs, and originally comes from the term for the organizer of a tabletop RPG session.
- The icon for Gamemasters used to be a Z symbol, before it was changed to an ouroboros:
