On the Doorstep[edit]

Once you've started the quest with Halindor, you'll find Ezreba pounding on Gonlas' door. Ezreba will start acting suspicious when you question her.

"Oh, hello there. What can Ezreba do for you?"
What are you doing?
"Ezreba is good friends with Gonlas! She was just dropping in on him. No harm done.
Ahem. Ezreba will be going now."

She walks a few meters away from the door. If you speak to her again, she'll say:

"Ezreba is just waiting for her friend."

After freeing Gonlas from the power of the crystal, you'll exit the house to see Ezreba speaking to Halindor:

Ezreba: "Good to see you again Halindor. Make sure to check on your wife soon."

Inside the Greenhill Catacombs, you'll come across Ezreba fleeing:

Ezreba: "What? How did you get down here?"

If you manage to speak to her while she's running, she'll only say:

"The crystal … you must destroy it! Quickly, or everyone will die!"

Kill Balras Arenim and she'll yell:

Ezreba: "Please! I must find him!"

Catch up with her and she'll be kneeling over a deceased Khajiit:

"You have caught Ezreba, miserable wretch that she is. She will not fight you."
Explain yourself. What's going on here?
"Ezreba just … she just wanted to save her husband. A week ago, dark pilgrims arrived in town. Members of the Stonefire cult. They came to this one's home in the night. They took him. Now … look."
This is your husband?
"Yes, they took him so that she … she had to help them place those crystals. They did not tell her at first, but as soon as Ezreba saw one she knew. They summon the Dro-m'Athra."
You'll need to turn yourself in to Bowenas, Ezreba.
"Ezreba will turn herself in. You have nothing more to fear from this one. She is so sorry. So very, very sorry for what she's done."
I'll be right behind you.

You can speak to her further before bringing her to Bowenas.

"This one will behave. You have nothing to fear from Ezreba."
What are the Dro-m'Athra?
"An old story, Ezreba thought. A tale the Clanmothers tell to scare you, keep you from misbehaving. Ezreba only knows what she was told, as a cub."
What did you learn as a cub?
"Ahem. "The moons shine brightly at night. But where the bright pale light shines, the darkness is that much deeper. As the people, as the Khajiit live in the light, so things live in the dark. These are the Dro-m'Athra.""
The Stonefire Cult?/What was that you said about the Stonefire Cult?
"The dark mages that you've been fighting. That is what they are called. They've come from the north, Ezreba thinks. From somewhere in Colovia, or Cyrodiil. How they knew to come here, how they knew of the Dro-m'Athra, she does not know."
What is this ruin they're unearthing?
"Ezreba does not know. But the ancient ruins of her people are everywhere in Reaper's March. It is said, long ago, her people locked away the darkness. They hid the darkness of the night beneath the ground. This must be one of those places."
What happened to your husband?
"He … he could not be turned. That is who these dead are. The dead of Greenhill, the strong. The ones who would not submit to the darkness of the Dro-m'Athra. They killed him because he was strong."

If you speak to her while escorting her to see the Treethane, she'll say:

"Ezreba prays for forgiveness. She hopes the light of Jone and Jode will absolve her."

Ezreba's Fate[edit]

Speak to her after speaking to the Treethane and she'll say:

"Ezreba awaits judgment. This one is ready to face the consequences of her actions. She hopes that mercy remains in the hearts of her neighbors."

After speaking to a villager, she will say:

"Ezreba prays for forgiveness."

After completing the objective, you can speak to her again. Her response differs depending on your choice during the quest.

If you agreed to allow Ezreba to stay:
If you agreed to have Ezreba banished:
"Ezbreba is grateful for your kindness."
"Ezreba will leave Greenhill, never to return."
