Salvaged Plans[edit]

After one of the Grasp asks you to search for some fleeing criminals in the Deadlands, you can come across a frightened Elisa.

As you approach she will exclaim:

Elisa Velain: "I don't want to die in this place."

Speak with Elisa:

"Stay back! Please, don't come any closer. I don't have the strength to fight you, or any money to give you, but please! I beg you to look the other way. Let me go."
Bakh sent me to find you.
"You saw Bakh? Is he safe? He must be, if he told you to come find me. I'm not sure why you're helping us, but I don't care. Thank you, stranger.
What about Minwileth? Please tell me this wasteland hasn't taken her."
Have not found Minwileth :
Found Minwileth :
I haven't found her yet.
"Please, you must find her. When we got here through the portal, we split up to keep the Grasp from tailing us. I took the east road, and she took the north one.
It's my fault we're all out here. I don't know what I'll do if she's hurt."
I'll find her. You need to meet Bakh at the portal to Fargrave.
"Then I'll make my way there.
Thank you, stranger. You can't know what this means to me."
She didn't make it.
"Gods, no. This is all my fault. She only went along with the plan for my sake. I got the Drain, and now she's dead because of it. She lost her life trying to save mine. It's not fair.
I need to see Bakh. Please, where is he?"
He's waiting for you at the portal to Fargrave.
"Then I'll make my way there.
Thank you, stranger. You can't know what this means to me."

Elisa runs toward the portal.

Once you've found both Elisa and Minwileth, you can go to the area near the portal and find Bakh and Elisa:

Bakh: "I'm sorry, Elisa. I should have been more careful."
Elisa Velain: "Don't. This is my fault. If it wasn't for me, we wouldn't be in this mess."

You can then speak with Elisa, after learning their story you have the choice of how to help her or not:

"This is all my fault. Why did I have to be so weak? Why did I have to be the one to get the Drain?
There's no point in running. It's all … futile. I can feel myself slipping away. Maybe I should just accept it."
What do you mean?
"This damn sickness, it's different for everyone. Some people get by for years with just headaches. For others, it takes them in a few days.
I keep forgetting things. Sometimes I wake up and I don't even know my own name. It's getting worse."
Is there any way to stop it?
"The Redmaiden we stole … it would have given me time, at least. Bakh insisted we had to get our hands on some when we found out I was sick, but we didn't think we'd get caught.
Minwileth had it when we came here. Gods know where it is now."
Why didn't you take it immediately if you're so sick?
"There wasn't time while we were in Fargrave, everything happened so fast. We agreed Minwileth would hold it and as soon as we were safe, we'd meet up again and I'd take it then.
But nothing worked out like we planned."

At this point you have three choices:

I found the Redmaiden. Here, take it.
"What, really? I don't know what to say. I could kiss you, or cry, or scream … but I'll save us both the trouble and just say thank you.
You've given me a fighting chance. All of this won't have been in vain. Thank you, friend."
This Redmaiden was stolen. I'm returning it to Fargrave.
"You found it? Then … no, I suppose I won't be able to change your mind. I don't deserve it anyway. It's my fault we got into this mess. I should be suffering. It's only fair."
<Lie> I can't help you.
"The Redmaiden we stole … it would have given me time, at least. Bakh insisted we had to get our hands on some when we found out I was sick, but we didn't think we'd get caught.
Minwileth had it when we came here. Gods know where it is now."

After you make a choice, you will need to speak with Bakh:

"You should speak with Bakh. If you're going to decide what to do with us once you talk to him, please just make it quick."

If you chose to let them go:

Bakh: "Bakh, are you sure? What if I get worse?"
Elisa Velain: "We'll be able to find a way to get you more Redmaiden if we're free. Come on. Thank you, friend!"
<The pair then will walk down the road and disappear.>
If Bakh and Elisa are turned in

If you convince them to turn themselves in, you'll hear:

Elisa Velain: "Are you sure about this, Bakh? Are we really going to turn ourselves over to the Grasp?"
Bakh: "The only thing I'm sure of is that if we stay, we'll end up like Minwileth. Come on, let's go."
<The pair then head towards the portal.>

You can then find the pair in Fargrave when you return to speak with the guard:

Gave her the Redmaiden:
Did not give her the Redmaiden:
"The Grasp may keep me and Bakh in chains, but what you did for me … it means I have time. It's the most precious gift of all.
With it, maybe Bakh and I can figure out some other way to stop the Drain, even while serving our time. So, thank you."
"After everything we went through, losing Minwileth, running through the Sever … to just end up back here. It's almost laughable.
Bakh says this isn't my fault, but he's wrong. We never should have come to Fargrave."

Hope Springs Eternal[edit]

Elisa and Bakh in Castle Leyawiin

If you helped Elisa before completing Hope Springs Eternal, then she and Bakh will appear at Leyawiin Castle for the celebrations:

Gave her the Redmaiden:
Did not give her the Redmaiden:
"There aren't enough words to thank you for what you've done. Not just for us, for me … but for all of Nirn!
It's an honor to know you, Champion."
"I can't believe you beat Mehrunes Dagon. I knew you were capable after you helped Bakh and I in the Sever, but I had no idea just how capable.
We came to Nirn hoping it might help me manage my symptoms. Thanks for making it a safe place to land."

Dialogue[edit]

If you let Bakh and Elisa escape, you will later find them crouched around a campfire in Wretched Spire. Her reaction to you will depend on what choice you made regarding the Redmaiden:

Gave her the Redmaiden:
Did not give her the Redmaiden:
"Surprised to see us? I can hardly believe we made it here in one piece.
Bakh and I decided we'll stay here for a time, but I think we'll ultimately travel back to Nirn. I'm feeling good these days, thanks to you."
"Wasn't sure we'd see you again. I'd already forgotten your face, but it's coming back now.
It's so cold … even sitting by this fire, I can't shake the chill from my bones. There isn't much comfort in this place, but at least I have Bakh."
