He can be found in a passage adjacent to yours and is viewable through a small window. He will notice Priest Bavian with you and tell her what he's witnessed in the temple:

Acolyte Croble: "Priest Bavian! Our own brethren have turned against us! They've become monsters!"

Priest Bavian: "Calm yourself, acolyte, and tell me where the high priest is."

You can then question him.

"I'm safe in here, but the rest of the temple—it's overrun with monsters! Worse, they're our own priests and pilgrims.
I saw one pilgrim attack poor Larilvor. Ripped at his flesh with her teeth!"

Did the storm cause your brethren to change?

"The storm? I hadn't thought of that. Terrible things started happening after it began, though.

After you have spoken to him, harrowfiend appears and begins to creep up on Croble.

Acolyte Croble: "Who's there? Is that you, high priest—Aaaagh!"
