I don't know how to do wikis or anything.

I did however, recently come across some questions about this store.

How often (after a burglary for example) does it update or change the stock?

What about the display cases? I have heard that once they have been emptied they don't ever re-stock.

Do the items in the display cases evolve over time - such that perhaps stealing from these cases is a wiser thing to do at a higher level than a lower one?

Also, I registered an account. I think I might be spending time here. I've updated this post so that it might include my account name.

All in-game cells respawn after three days. This excludes, I believe, most objects placed in the environment. So, the openable display cases will not respawn, but the glass shelves with the jewelry inside will. And, checking the levelled list, they will indeed have better items the higher the PC's level. I hope this helped. 24.108.161.152 15:43, 31 January 2008 (EST)

The display cases never respawn but the other containers are restocked three days after a robbery. The display cases have fixed contents so you can empty them at any point - the others are all leveled. –RpehTCE 15:46, 31 January 2008 (EST)
It appears there is some disagreement between the two of you. Can we get some clarity on that?
Also, again, I'm just the critic. I don't actually know enough about wikis to be of any use. I don't know how to edit them, make entries, do the codes or any of that.
The last time I tried, I drove myself to drinking. While the outcome was favorable in my perspective, I don't think the other editors were very amused.
Actually I think we're agreeing - we're just using slightly different terminology. The display cases (openable) will NOT respawn and do NOT contained leveled loot; the glass counters (not openable) WILL respawn and their contents ARE leveled. –RpehTCE 04:43, 1 February 2008 (EST)

Super, so would someone who knows how to do things all pretty like mind updating the wiki here with that info?

I did come here looking for that info. That's actually why I was on this page to begin with. Yes, I'm asking you guys to do it for me. I promise, neither you nor I want me screwing around in the wikis.

Never mind. I gave it a go and it wasn't as hard as I thought. I updated it.

I guess we don't care that the paragraph blocks are hard to read, and that a few simple extra lines make it break down easier for the reader - since I edited that in twice but it's been taken out twice as well.

Silly wiki people.

Personally, I think a single break between paragraphs is plenty. I'm sorry if you think your edits have been reverted without good reason, but the page's current layout complies with the standard style that's used on every wiki page. There certainly isn't anything "silly" about maintaining a uniform appearance throughout the site ;). --Eshetalk00:10, 4 February 2008 (EST)
As the last person that reverted your changes, I thought quite carefully about it. I found that the huge seemingly random space was a distraction, and made the page's formating look bad. Also, to tell you the truth, I don't find the regularly formated page hard to read. That's my opinion and I plan on sticking to it especially since rpeh agrees with me. Even if I did find the current version hard to read, I probably wouldn't support such a change in the page structure, mainly since it would be edited out by others who, as I did, think it looks odd. Other more editing oriented reasons include changes in page content, and keeping standard pages makes editing large groups of them easier (though I will admit this position is quite shallow, as I see no way this particular specialization would interfere with future formating changes, still it sets a bad precedent). I hope that clarifies my position on the matter. --Ratwar 01:00, 4 February 2008 (EST)
May I remind you guys that this is supposed to be the Red Diamond Jewelry discussion? --Matthewest TCE 02:58, 27 April 2008 (EDT)

Flopping Shirt[edit]

I have had this problem for a while now. As soon as you walk into this store on the left hand side there is a display case with a blue shirt in it. After about 3 weeks gameplay the shirt started to sink and it is wedged between the outside and the inside of the display case. Everytime I walk in, it started flying around and returning to its original place. There is also a 'tinkling' sound. Has anybody experienced this problem? --Matthewest TCE 03:00, 27 April 2008 (EDT)

Bugs Section[edit]

Does it really need to be there at all when the bug is mentioned in the second paragraph in the article? 75.111.235.210 17:05, 20 April 2009 (EDT)

Actually it's better to have the bugs section rather than mention it in the second paragraph, reason being that we can then use the UOP tag to show it's fixed by the patch. Thanks for spotting it though. –RpehTCE 00:47, 21 April 2009 (EDT)

Store doesn't open at normal hours[edit]

I noticed that this store doesn't open until after 8:30 AM instead of at 8 like all the other shops in the Imperial City. I picked the lock when I noticed it was closed and Hamlof accused me of trespassing. He was at the bottom of the stairs. I stood outside and waited a little bit and then the store opened up like normal. Was this a random bug, or is Hamlof just slower than the other merchants? 96.253.119.151 04:17, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

I've often found that if you stand outside a store it won't open on time. It seems to be just one of those things. There will usually be a short delay as the shopkeeper NPC has to get up and move into the main cell before opening up. rpeh •TCE 12:53, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Ring of No Touch[edit]

I stole his key and opened the display case at his desk and there was a ring that I could not even view the name of.I have an original oblivion with xbox live updates. Why can I not even view this ring?
