Oblivion Places Redesign Project[edit]

I pasted the data over for this page. If anything else needs to be done for it let me know (like removing the cleanup marker?). I'd like to be involved with the OPRP project, but I also don't want to mess it up... — Unsigned comment by Eshe (talkcontribs)

Moving some data here, as it seems to pertain to a map asset that isn't included on the page.

  1. This location's map marker (M on map) is named Anutwyll (editor name AnutwyllMapMarker). The entrance door is NNW of the marker, 60 feet away.
  2. 1 Ayleid Well is at location A on map
  3. 1 bedroll is at b

I'm not sure, but I think it has to do with the big map, here, except the bedroll, which appears to be marked on the map already on the page. It should probably go back where it was, considering Nephele the wise put it there in the first place ;), but that's just my guess. --Eshe 02:34, 3 July 2007 (EDT)
I think there must be something I'm missing, because the only map links I see are to the Google-style map, which has no markers "M", "A", or "b". I likewise noticed the campfire/bedroll/chest on my exploration of Anutwyll, but unless I'm missing something relatively major, it looks like this page needs an exterior map closeup screenshot to denote the location of the bedroll and chest. --Kementari 02:43, 3 July 2007 (EDT)
All of the data pages include references to non-existent exterior maps. I'd like to eventually add exterior maps and so the pages have been written with the assumption that someday those maps will be created. But right now I figure exterior maps are a pretty low priority. It's easier for me to just have all the info included on the page and then if/when a map is made, everything is already there. Otherwise, I'd have to somehow keep track of what exactly needs to be updated on each and every page. And other than the fact that the map doesn't exist, the rest of the information in the notes is still useful, IMO. --NepheleTalk 03:02, 3 July 2007 (EDT)
Aha, that's what I thought, and that's perfectly reasonable. Since I'm planning to work on walkthroughs anyway, Neph, do you have any qualms with me just moving the specific (and potentially confusing for new/nonsavvy users) data to each Place's Talk page, and perhaps adding a generalised statement with regard to any exterior attractions? I'm not talking about anything big - basically, I'd just do what I did to the Anutwyll page, and perhaps make mention of "a small campground including a bedroll, campfire, and Chest 04 to the southwest of the Anutwyll entrance" until such time as the exterior maps are generated. Then again, this might be overreaching the OPRP, but we might want to consider adding an "external map" category to the OPRP Progress page and maybe even a standardized "Needs Image - External Map" template for use on OPRP-relevant pages. --Kementari 03:37, 3 July 2007 (EDT)
If you'd like to move some of the info to the talk page, that's fine.
I don't think adding tags or lists for the external maps is appropriate right now. Basically, every single place page needs them, so Oblivion:Places provides as complete and useful a list as any other of which pages do not have exterior maps. Also, creating them is not a priority right now, but creating a list is telling other editors that it's a task that needs to be done, and therefore potentially encouraging people to work on a task that really doesn't need to be worked on. Anyone who could create exterior maps would be helping out a lot more by updating the interior maps at this point. If/when we decide to start creating exterior maps, then we can start to keep track of which ones have been done and which need to be done, but until then I think it's just adding confusion. --NepheleTalk 12:38, 3 July 2007 (EDT)

Land Dreugh in the cieling?[edit]

In the first main chamber that you see, the dead end of zone 1, one of the monsters, in this case a land dreugh, was in the cieling... Doubt its a bug, its more of a one time glitch but I was just wondering if it happened to anybody else. Stouf761 02:42, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
