Detailed Walkthrough

Farida, one of the Assassins hanging around the castle, loves to haze potential inductees. If you happen to talk to her, she'll rope you into doing some scutwork for her: recover salt from the Dead Mine, get some soap (buy one bar of sload soap from Alberto), do the dirty laundry, and then sweep the front walk. You can tell her off during either of the last two tasks, at which point she attacks you; you don't need to kill her, just beat her, then she'll stop and let you go.

Note that you can encounter her outside the castle, before you gain admittance to the guild. If you recover the salt and the gates are locked, you'll have to wait until you gain entrance before you can talk to her and continue.

10		At the Assassin Castle, I met Farida. She wants me to follow her. I just hope that this is not a trap.
30		I'm to go into the mine and bring out the mined salt. Apparently there was some kind of... accident. I should be careful.
40		The salt! Ha, Farida certainly didn't expect this. Somehow I have the feeling that she sent me into the mine to die. But not with me! With all the skeletons on the loose here.
45		Where did she go? It seems that Farida has returned to the Assassins' castle. She really thought that I would die in the mine. And I can't go into the castle. Thus, the bone test is complete for me as well. or Where did she go? It seems that Farida has returned to the Assassin Castle. She really thought that I would die in the mine.
50		In the castle, I met Farida and handed her all the salt from the mine. Now should I get the soap out of the camp. Soap?!
60		Now I will need to clean the other Assassins' dirty clothes. Probably with the soap that I have provided. I'm starting to get the feeling that Farida is shamelessly exploiting me.
70		The things are clean. Let's see what Farida says.
90		Farida wanted to harness me again for menial work, but not me! Not this time!

Notes

• Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
• Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in random order.
• If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
• It is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering setstage ODDAss41Mine stage, where stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages. See SetStage for more information.
