Message #8

Before Oblivion released on 20 March 2006, a countdown site was published to tease the game. These teasers were contained in cryptic messages, which were released sequentially as part of the countdown.

Messages #1-3 were originally spoken by a seer in the Bloodmoon expansion for Morrowind during The Sad Seer quest as earlier foreshadowing.

Message #1: "When the dragon dies, the Empire dies."

Message #2: "Where is the lost dragon's blood, the Empire's sire?"

Message #3: "And from the womb of the void, who shall stem the blood tide?"

Message #4: "So long as the Blood of the Dragon Prince runs strong in her rulers, the glory of the Empire shall extend in unbroken years."

Message #5: "His heart's blood bleeds in darkness."

Message #6: "For once the portals are opened, who shall shut them upon the rising tide?"

Message #7: "For Lord Dagon forever reborn in blood and fire from the waters of Oblivion."

Message #8: "Find him...and close shut the marble jaws of Oblivion."
