Entertainers Dialogue?[edit]

According to this edit summary, Gaeldol has unique dialogue with the Entertainers plug-in installed. I've removed the MWOP dialogue check in the hopes of verifying this. —Legoless (talk) 16:52, 29 May 2013 (GMT)

Whoops. I don't actually have the plugin, so I didn't even think about that! Good catch! Jeancey (talk) 17:00, 29 May 2013 (GMT)
I had a poke around and couldn't actually find any unique dialogue. Can someone else take a look? —Legoless (talk) 13:23, 6 June 2013 (GMT)

Entertainers plug-in dialogue[edit]

As far as I can tell, the Entertainers plugin does give Gaeldol some new lines for little advice that occur if you're carrying a drum or lute, but the plugin adds it to a whole bunch of generic NPCs. Perhaps someone could confirm? That seems like good reason to remove the "If you have, some unique dialogue is added for him.", since it appears that he does get dialogue, but it's not unique to him. The short of it is that I can confirm this plugin does not add any unique dialogue to Gaeldol, as Legoless already found back in 2013. The long of it, for anyone who's interested, is detailed below:
Taking a look in the Construction Set, the entertainers.esp plugin adds the new dialogue topics entertain the patrons and handy high-kick, both of which are exclusive to Dulnea Ralaal. It also adds/changes dialogue in the existing topics Greeting 7, latest rumors, and little secret.
Under Greeting 7, Dulnea Ralaal's unique greeting is changed to include the line "Or do you want to entertain the patrons?" This line is of course exclusive to Dulnea Ralaal.
Under latest rumors, the following line is added: "Dulnea Ralaal, publican of the Eight Plates Cornerclub here in Balmora, is hiring entertainers to amuse her patrons. She's looking for jesters, dancers, drummers, jugglers, and singers who play the lute." This is a generic rumor which may be spoken by any NPC in Balmora. There are also three other dialogue lines marked as changed, however these are previously-existing generic rumors which have nothing to with the Entertainers plugin specifically and which I'm almost certain are dirty edits.
Under little secret, the following lines are added: "Oh. Do you play the drum? You might talk to Dulnea Ralaal in Balmora, at the Eight Plates Cornerclub. I hear she hires performers to entertain her patrons." and "Oh. Do you play the lute? You might talk to Dulnea Ralaal in Balmora, at the Eight Plates Cornerclub. I hear she hires performers to entertain her patrons." These are again entirely generic lines which may be spoken by any NPC anywhere if the player is carrying either a drum or a guarskin drum (for the first line) or a lute (including the fat lute) for the second line. Again, there are two additional previously-existing lines marked as changed, one a generic Thieves Guild line and one a generic Fighters Guild line concerning the looting of Dwarven ruins, which have nothing to do with the plugin and are likely dirty edits again.
These dialogue topics/lines are the only ones added/modified by the plugin, and all of them are either unique to Dulnea Ralaal or entirely generic. I have no idea where the claim that the plugin adds unique dialogue to Gaeldol came from, but it is incorrect and should be removed.
...Okay, that was way more detailed than it needed to be... :P — Wolfborn(Howl) 22:27, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
Nah, that was pretty informative! I saw some lines that were marked as changed, but they didn't look like they had actually been changed to me, so I'm glad to have someone clarify that. I didn't know two of those lines were rumors related to the Fighters Guild and Thieves Guild either, so thanks for that too. Maybe the latest rumor and little secret lines should be mentioned on Morrowind:Entertainers? ThreeC (talk) 06:25, 26 April 2022 (UTC)
That would probably be the most appropriate place to mention those lines, I would think. — Wolfborn(Howl) 02:22, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
