Lower prices with higher mercantile?[edit]

I got full mercantile training from him but now whenever i buy and sell to anyone but him i only get really low prices, like for a 250 gold book i only get around 30 gold buying or selling anyone know about this please help (Eddie the head 04:13, 15 January 2011 (UTC))

Well if a merchant wants 30 drakes for a 250 drake book I would take that in a heart beat, but I found this on the Mercantile Bugs section
"After you reach 70+ skill in Mercantile, there is a chance that traders will begin to offer you less for your wares the higher their disposition is to you. A work-around is to temporarily lower their disposition by asking for a high price and getting refused a few times. Cancel the trade and then offer the goods again, and hopefully you'll get a better deal. This is especially useful when dealing with enchanters trying to recoup your money with high-priced weapons. This is fixed in the Morrowind Code Patch."
Hope that helps. Alpha Kenny Buddy 04:28, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

Actually it is the sum of your Disposition and Mercantile, minus the seller's Mercantile. Once that sum exceeds 100 by very much, the merchant's selling price would be lower than his buying price, so their buying price starts going down so it stays under. --Brf 12:53, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
