Lore talk:Harkon
Timeline Mess[edit]
Trying to place Harkon's reign in time is impossible: Durnehviir's dialogue indicates he's been in the Soul Cairn guarding Valerica since before the Dragon War - he specifically sought power against other dragons, not against humans. This puts Valerica's escape from Harkon, and thus his discovery of the prophecy and his obsession with it at some point in the late Merethic Era. However, the prophecy of the Tyranny of the Sun has to be dated to the First Era - Gelebor uses that term explicitly to date the building of the Chantry of Auri-El. The only way to make that fit would be that the Elder Scrolls told of the prophecy before Vyrthur formulated it. --10:25, 29 November 2022 (UTC)77.23.253.69
- He doesn't actually specify that he went to the Soul Cairn during the Dragon War. He merely states that he wanted to 'maintain [his] superiority' . Whether this is over mortals or fellow dov is anyones guess, but mortals can be assumed to make the timeline work. Dragons such as Dragonne Papré, Nahfahlaar, The Wyrm of Elenglynn, and Sahrotnax survived well into the Second and even Third Eras. Durnehviir's emprisonment likely aligned with Serana's intended seal-away date; the Interregnum. Mindtrait0r (talk) 14:59, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
