Pre-Second Empire History[edit]

Reading over the paragraphs prior to "During the Second Empire", I struggle to see how the sources mentioned actually corroborate the details propounded. While a lot of it may be true when contextualised, nothing explicitly states any of it is true and therefore it seems speculative to me. I do not find any Arena evidence that the city was founded in the merethic, I cannot parse the sentence beginning "This was the first time Arenthia passed" and I fail to see the relevance of the preceding sentence to Arenthia. Furthermore, Arenthia's geographical location as well as dubitable incumbency at the time of Darloc Bræ make the sentence as a whole extremely dubious. Following "This situation remained until the eventual dissolution of the Dominion", the page seems to return to the speculative context-based positions, with the exception of the section on the Camoran Usurper. Please correct me if I am incorrect. — J. J. Fullerton talk﴿ 23:01, 11 September 2018 (UTC)

The Merethic assumption kinda works if one takes Arena's mention that the city was named after the first king of the Bosmer, combined with the fact that King Eplear's reign marked the beginning of the First Era, and Arenthia is obviously not named after Eplear, so the "first king" must have reigned earlier. As for Darloc Brae, the loading screen of the Do'Krin Monastery does explicitly mention the city being in his domain for some time. Most of the post-Second Empire history also seem to work at least partially; while the sources don't mention Arenthia explicitly, they refer to the annexation of the whole Valenwood by the Second Dominion and then by the Septim Empire, which also affected Arenthia in a similar way.
But generally I agree that there are passages in the article which, while making sense, do seem somewhat speculative (for example the one about the ESO situation lasting until the dissolution of the Dominion or the one about Imperials fleeing the city). --Vordur Steel-Hammer (TINV1K) 07:11, 12 September 2018 (UTC)

New Edits[edit]

I've reworded various parts of this page for grammar and clarity, and to remove some ambiguous/misleading statements. Sadly this does not fully address many of the concerns raised in the preceeding section. I've reworded the sentence beginning "This was the first time Arenthia" although the existence of a 'King of the Bosmer' before Ephren would seem to contradict it. The section about the rivers was a bit of a guess as I was unable to find a map which actually labels them. If it's wrong could somebody please correct it?--Draugluin (talk) 05:41, 28 June 2023 (UTC)

Trying to explain the rivers based on ESO's portrayal of the region doesn't work anyway, as ESO's rivers are geographically impossible. I think what's written with respect to the rivers makes sense. --Enodoc (talk) 08:33, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
