Zephyr is a legendary Dwarven bow.[1] Forged from Dwarven metal, the bow is noted for its exceptional draw speed, allowing the user to fire arrows much faster than with a regular Dwarven bow.[2] Zephyr is also said to have been imbued with acid, allowing the user to melt through armor with each shot.[1]

History[edit]

Zephyr's most famous wielder was Katria, a Nord adventurer who died while searching for the legendary Aetherium Forge beneath Bthalft in Skyrim. Katria died while searching for a shard of Aetherium within the ruins of Arkngthamz. An earthquake hit the complex while she was within, causing her to fall to her death within a cavern near the ruined city's subterranean entrance. In death, Katria remained bound to the mortal plane as a ghost, unable to rest without proof of the Aetherium Forge's existence.[3]

The Last Dragonborn encountered Katria's spirit while exploring Arkngthamz circa 4E 201. The ghost led the Dragonborn to her body, locating Zephyr in the process. The Dragonborn recovered the bow with Katria's blessing. Together, the two of them located the Aetherium shard in the depths of the ruins, ultimately using it to access the Aetherium Forge. With her discoveries proven to the world, Katria's spirit could finally rest.[4]
