Thornmarsh is a coastal region in northeastern Black Marsh.[1] It is bordered by Shadowfen to the west, Morrowind to the north, and the Padomaic Ocean to the east. The region contains the city of Thorn. Like the rest of northern Black Marsh, the area is more forested compared to the swampier areas in the south.[2]

It borders Morrowind to the north around Tear, a coastal plain part of the Dres District.[3]

The Argonian tribes of Thornmarsh were one of three regions of Black Marsh to join the Ebonheart Pact at its founding in 2E 572.[4] The Four-Spike Wattle is an arrangement of throat spines particularly popular on the coastal shores of Thornmarsh.[5]

Notes[edit]

  • According to various files and maps dating back to the alpha state of ESO, Thornmarsh is the name for the planned zone also known as Southern Marsh, which is displayed as encompassing the Tear area of Morrowind and goes down to Brachmont in Black Marsh. While the outlines of the zone can be found in-game, the zone itself has yet to appear.
