Moranda is an Ayleid ruin in the Great Forest of Cyrodiil, found northeast of Chorrol and southeast of Sancre Tor.[1] Its name directly translates as [the] Long-Dark in Ayleidoon. It was among the only modern sites that still bore their ancient names by the time of the Third Era.[2]

History[edit]

During the Alessian Slave Rebellion, the Ten Ancestors were dispersed to cities across Cyrodiil for safekeeping, one of them being kept in Moranda. Following the sacking of White-Gold and the Ayleid exodus of Cyrodiil, the statues were left behind and forgotten.[1]

When the Order of the Black Worm excavated the site of Ouze in 2E 582, they took a necromantic gem array from Moranda and used it to imprison the Voice of Ouze, a spiritual mediary between the Oathbreakers and Y'ffre. The ruins themselves were later cut off from entry.[3]

By 3E 433, the ruins had been opened and were occupied by monsters, and Umbacano contracted the Hero of Kvatch to retrieve one of the Ten Ancestors from there.[4]
