Ilunibi is an old sea cavern found on the West Gash on the island of Vvardenfell in Morrowind. Ilunibi served as one of the many lesser bases for the Sixth House during their resurgence in the late Third Era. It was a quiet retreat and omitted from any Imperial maps that were present at the time.[1] It is thought that many natural caves form a series of nodes and capillaries that originally pulsed with the divine essence of the Aedra that created Nirn.[2] This may explain the origin of Ilunibi.

History[edit]

During the Blight outbreak in 3E 427, a scouting party of the Imperial Legion from Buckmoth Legion Fort were attacked and slaughtered by the House Dagoth. Only one soldier survived the attack and returned to Buckmoth to relay the tale, though he eventually succumbed to Corprus and died. The Blades spymaster Caius Cosades sent the Nerevarine to assist the legion in resolving the situation. The Nerevarine made their way to the nearby fishing village of Gnaar Mok and delved into Ilunibi. Traversing deep into the sea cove, the Nerevarine encountered several Ash Creatures and the Dagoth shrine protected by Dagoth Gares. The warrior was able to defeat the Ash Ghoul but was cursed with Corprus.[3] At around this time, the Fists of Randagulf were found in these caves.
