Bawn is an Ayleid ruin found southeast of Bravil, located on the shores of Niben Bay at the estuary of the Larsius River.[1] Its two subsections of Bawn Loria and Bawn Latta translate to "Darkness" and "Light" respectively in Ayleidoon.

History[edit]

Following the fall of the White-Gold Tower in 1E 243 at the end of the Alessian Slave Rebellion, the clan of Bawn escaped largely intact as they fled south beneath the canopy of Valenwood. They are presumed to have settled there and adopted the Green Pact under the terms of the native Bosmer, eventually being absorbed into their local population.[2] The burgeoning Alessian Empire toppled the remaining Ayleid cities of Cyrodiil one by one, and Bawn subsequently fell into ruin.

By the time of the Oblivion Crisis in 3E 433, the halls of the ruin were swarming with undead.[3] The mysterious ghost of the Forlorn Watchman, later identified as Grantham Blakely, haunted the grounds near the ruins until his spirit was freed by the Hero of Kvatch.[4] The nearby eponymously named empty campsite of Bawnwatch Camp sat on an island just north of the ruins.[3]
