Alfhedil Elf-Hewer was a Nord barbarian who was a master Axemen.[1][2] He was proficient in many axe combat styles such as the barbed axes of the Orcs, the hollow-bladed axes of the western elves, and the six-foot-long axes favored in Winterhold.[2] Alfhedil eventually put down roots in the Dunmer stronghold Falensarano near Tel Aruhn where he took to training others.[1][2] From this location he encountered and trained the likes of the Nerevarine[1] and Ellabeth, the Queen of the Axe.[2]
