When trying to figure out the Traitor's real identity you will have to collect rumors from camp healer Eustacia and compare them with the info provided by the four champions, Chung, Delacroix, Beatrice and Alhavara.

While Eustacia is the key to solve the puzzle, she will never mention the traitor by name. It is up to you to compare her rumors with the clues given to you by the four champions. Learning how to gather clues and collect info from the champions is important to understand how to deal with them – and, especially, how to deal with the traitor who will give you false information, for obvious reasons.

Eustacia[edit]

When Eustacia provides new rumors, they will always relate to the topics available during your conversation with the champions. She will never repeat the same topic twice, and with a maximum of 6 provided rumors, she will give you information in all topics; she will even follow the same order as the topics are listed. See next section for details.

Ask a Question[edit]

When you choose the Ask a Question option in a champion's dialogue menu, you will be presented with six available categories. For 1 aid point, the champion will provide one clue for each of the other champions. This means that all the champions have 18 clues available, provided you have the necessary aid points. Note that Eustacia will follow these topics to the letter, even if it seems like she gives you a random rumor:

Categories:

  • North wall defense
  • East wall defense
  • Arguing with governor
  • Imperial aid
  • Ice Tribes
  • Gates before attack

Choose a category and select from the list of the three remaining champions; note that all info will be stored in the Adventure Menu under 'rumors'. You can investigate in any way you want, but keep an eye on Eustacia's latest rumor and pick the same topic as her, and you are on the right track. As the identity of the traitor is determined at the very beginning of the game, three of the champions will provide the same answers to your question, the traitor himself excepted. Keep in mind that all of Eustacia's rumors will appear in the same order as the categories you can choose when asking the Champions about information, making the investigation a simple question about comparing the collected data.

The Investigation[edit]

Below is an example of a thorough investigation if the traitor is Alhavara.

First of all, read Eustacia's first rumor, then compare it with the information from the Champions, in the same Category. At this point, the most obvious suspect is Alhavara as she is the only one with a conflicting reply. Eustacia says; The Traitor Defended the north wall during the attack while two of the Champions will reveal that Alhavara was in charge of the north wall. Note that Beatrice is still a suspect as she defended the north wall as well.

Moving on to the next rumor from Eustacia, The Traitor Defended the east wall during the attack makes it clear that Alhavara is the traitor, as all three will mention her as the only one guarding the east wall during the attack. Additionally, the fact that Beatrice repositioned her forces from the east wall to the north before the attack confirms that she had nothing to do with the east wall.

The third clue from Eustacia finally nails Alhavara as the traitor as she is the only one who had a loud argument with the Governor during the attack - all the other champions will tell you about the argument, even Alhavara herself.
