Daggerfall talk:A Prized Item

When I tried to Identify the quest item, as suggested under Notes, I was unable to because it didn't allow me to select the item, either by using my own Identify spell, nor at a Mages Guild service. I have Select chosen, not Remove, for purpose of identifying the item, but I get the message "You cannot remove this item." I tried it with a couple different runs at the quest with the same results. I'm currently playing Daggerfall Unity, and to my knowledge, it's not something that was changed from vanilla, unless it's something specific to the Unity engine. I also tried it with all mods disabled, and got the same result.
