References to the Skaal Test of Strength[edit]

You will notice I put references to the Skaal Test of Strength, becouse I verified, and the meadhall is actually only atacked during this quest. If we don't say it on the quest page, people may think that the quest is availiable at all times, and become confused when they can't start it. --Max Welrod 21:45, 8 February 2009 (EST)

Severed Arm/Severed Nord Leg[edit]

The "severed arm" from Beowulf mentioned in the notes is presumably referring to Grendel's severed arm. Grendel does not use this as a weapon--he has it ripped off by Beowulf. As such, it seems doubtful that the Severed Nord Leg is any kind of direct reference, though I do see all the other immediate parallels to Beowulf (which have to be either references or strong subconscious parallels). I don't want to take it out, as I've never edited anything on the site before and because there might be a stronger connection that I am unaware of, being unfamiliar with the quest, but I wanted to call attention to it. — Unsigned comment by 68.180.123.64 (talk) at 00:18 on 30 May 2009 (GMT)

Stage 120[edit]

Is it even possible to get this stage? I didnt see it anywhere else and I was just curious.--Catmaniac66 03:29, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

I haven't tried this in-game, but from the scripts it seems you can only get 120 if you already had 110. In other words, if you learn about the quest, then kill Svenja, then try to touch the axe. rpeh •TCE 09:47, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

blessing[edit]

the blessing has a frost shield spell on it too but im not too sure of the magnitude otherwise id put it up (Eddie the head 13:53, 12 May 2011 (UTC))

actually i just did the quest and i recieved a 5 point frost shield and no sanctuary bonus (Eddie the head 09:03, 29 May 2011 (UTC))
The spell Hrothmund's Blessing is 5-points Sanctuary and 5-points Frost Shield. --Brf 12:54, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
I made some test (just saved before touching the axe and did it many times) and I've seen that the blessing is not always the same. Sometimes it's only Sanctuary, sometimes only Frost Shield, sometimes both. I will add it to the page. --Giant Lizard (talk) 09:37, 27 February 2018 (UTC)

problem with entrance[edit]

I cannot get inside that cave's beast. I see a marker on local map but when I approach the physical entrance, there is no pop-up saying its the place and hitting 'use' is of no use (lol), so I cannot enter inside. What's happening? 91.241.62.164 09:02, 17 July 2017 (UTC)W4rb1rd

Auto Blindness Bug?[edit]

For some reason, when I entered the Mead Hall to receive this quest, I was automatically inflicted with Blindness. However, upon saving and reloading the save while inside the building, the Blindness disappeared, so it appears to just have been some sort of glitch? I do have the Boots of Blinding Speed on, but I hadn't taken them off and had already done the Resist Magicka trick a long time ago, so it shouldn't have been the Boots. Just to have been on the safe side, I had also done the Resist Magicka trick again, but the Blindness was still there. Either way, as I said, simply loading the save resolved the issue. Never happened anywhere else before, only when I entered the Mead Hall to get this quest which is why I'm mentioning it here. — Unsigned comment by Keneticmotion (talkcontribs) at 17:48 on 2 August 2021 (UTC)

Password to Hrothmund's Barrow[edit]

I see in the wiki that it says you can receive the password from the Patchwork Airship quest, but I think it's more relevant to mention that Svenja Snow-Song herself will give you the password if you talk to her about the topic, "little secret," while she's standing outside the mead hall. Not sure when this "little secret" triggers, but I'm assuming it's after you've come back with the heart and given it to her, thereby receiving the second part of this quest to go visit Hrothmund's Barrow. — Unsigned comment by Keneticmotion (talkcontribs) at 17:56 on 2 August 2021 (UTC)

Yeah, you're right. I'm not sure why the article waffles on about the Patchwork Airship quest while totally forgetting to mention this; I've taken the liberty of correcting that rather glaring oversight. Thanks for pointing it out. — Wolfborn(Howl) 04:20, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
