An Amusing Bug[edit]

I encountered a bug with this quest a few minutes ago and I thought it would be best to first explain it here:

I spoke to High-Pockets with Saryoni's Sermons in my inventory but chose the option to get revenge, which made him begin following me. I then spoke to him again and lent him the book instead. Waiting didn't make him finish with it, so I reasoned that I had to leave the cell. I entered the Craftsman's Hall and he followed me inside. I spoke to him and he returned my book and gave me all his possessions, and I was worried he was now in stuck in the Craftsman's Hall in his underwear, so I left to see if he was still following. Sure enough, when I got back outside he was still following me (in his undies) as if we were going to get revenge on Holmar, despite my having completed the quest by giving him the book. He continued to follow me until I got tired of him and reloaded my save, as I didn't want to complete the rest of Tribunal with a naked wood elf tagging along. Possibly, going inside to confront Holmar would have put an end to it, but I had already technically completed the quest and I was worried that doing so might result in more erratic behavior. I have not done any more experimenting with this. However, if for some reason you want a naked wood elf following you indefinitely, now you know how. To avoid this, do not talk about getting revenge before you give him the book. This was on XBox GOTY. Cavanoskus 07:25, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

converting[edit]

you dont have to wait a few days all you have to do is leave the cell, like i did the bouncer quest and came back out and he gave me his stuff (Eddie the head 10:06, 16 January 2011 (UTC))

Thanks - I've tweaked the page to reflect this. rpeh •TCE 11:21, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Completed the quest twice[edit]

Did the mission where I gave him the book and let him use it till I came back, and got the reward of everything. Went into the bar then and did the Bouncer mission there. Later on I went back to the bar on a mission to find information about the plot, and when I walked through the door, I got a journal update saying that we confronted the Nord in the bar and had to knock him out, and when I walked out and talk to the elf again, he talked about how he regretted that happening and gave me the 250 gold and the ring again.
