Official Wiki[edit]

I'm always thankful for our valuable contributions, but I'm not sure why we would want to divide the information and editors with this utility's own wiki. Lukish_ Tlk Cnt 17:52, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

That was created by me before I created this SkyProc wiki here on UESP. I started its creation on Wikia and didn't like the interface too much, and also figured it would fit in better here with the rest of the Elder Scrolls information (easy linking). I suppose I can look into deleting the Wikia one for less confusion. Leviathan1753 20:15, 10 February 2012 (UTC) Leviathan1753
I am not sure that its inclusion is warranted. I find it to be mainly just blatant advertising of an little known program. However, is there any way you can prove that this is a highly used program? elliot (talk) 12:02, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
It has only been released publically for a few days, and being a modding tool rather than a mod that the masses use, it hasn't skyrocketed in popularity. However, there are already a few mods using it (including Realistic Lighting) that have hit the hot mods list on the Nexus. LoJack (Wrye Bash) has already contacted the project to start integration into Wrye. It's also already gotten two requests to port it to different coding languages. Given some time to allow for mods to be created using SkyProc, I am sure it will become the basis for a good deal of well known mods, worthy of having at least a place among the known modding tools. In addition, it isn't here on the UESP for advertising, but rather to have a place to store all this information about it. However, if some moderator truly thinks the server space is unwarranted and would like to take it down, please contact me at afterimage1753@gmail.com first so that I can move the wiki pages elsewhere without losing the information. Thanks! Leviathan1753 20:21, 11 February 2012 (UTC)Leviathan1753
It wouldn't be deleted immediately, you'd probably have 7 days minimum. And, even then, any Administrator can find the deleted information for you. Nothing is actually ever deleted, more hidden. --kiz talkemail 20:26, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
Keeping an inclusionist frame of mind, it won't be bad to keep it here for now, IMO. :) elliot (talk) 20:40, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
Note that Plutoman contacted me before hand and asked explicit permission for adding this content and even if he didn't it would have been fine. So long as the utility is ES related and not questionable in content or origins and the article is well written. UESP has always had a strong link to the ES development community and is more than happy to spare a few articles and traffic to tools like SkyProc. -- Daveh 21:37, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
Okay, cool. Thanks for letting us know. elliot (talk) 21:42, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
