Quest-Related Events[edit]

After retrieving the Ancient Sword from Tribulation Crypt, the spirit of Marcelle Stenric will point at Trierre before disappearing. You can then ask him if he is a descendant:

"Hello, friend. Do you need directions to the inn?"
I've come a long way to find a member of the Stenric family.
"Well, your journey has been successful. Stenric blood certainly flows through my veins."
I found this sword in a crypt near Sanguine Barrows.
"Marcelle Stenric? That was my great-grandmother's name! Is that really her sword?
I grew up listening to stories of Dame Marcelle's exploits. She was quite the warrior, if you believe the tales."
I think she wants you to have her sword.
"This is amazing! Our family used to be much more prominent back in my great-grandmother's day. Maybe her sword will turn our fortunes around. Maybe.
Anyway, thank you so much for bringing this to me."

If you exited out of the conversation before turning in the quest, he will say:

"Is that really my great-grandmother's sword? she was a mighty warrior, or so the stories say." (Leads to the same quest completion dialogue)

Dialogue[edit]

If spoken to before the quest is started:

"We have enough trouble around here without the noble houses bickering among themselves."

After you return the sword to him, you can ask him about his great-grandmother:

"I'll always treasure Dame Marcelle's sword. Perhaps it will encourage me to take up a life of honor and adventure."
Can you tell me anything about Dame Marcelle?
"Just what my parents told me. I never met my great-grandmother.
Dame Marcelle was an honored knight in the service of House Dorell. I remember one story, set during the time of the Great Feud between the Tamriths and the Dorells."
What happened?
"In the story, Dorell's son Lanciot was kidnapped on the road to Northpoint by a dozen of Tamrith's most ruthless warriors. Despite the odds, Dame Marcelle never hesitated. She swooped in with this very sword and rescued Lanciot.
I love that story!"
