Fedar Githrano

Fedar Githrano is a Dark Elf who can be found wandering the roads west of Orsinium. He thinks of himself as an entrepreneur, but is having very little luck.

If Fedar is told the truth during the quest, he can later be found in the marketplace in the south end of Orsinium.

Dialogue[edit]

"Ah, greetings, traveler! Hold a moment, won't you? I'm looking for a cave. It would be found smelling, likely surrounded by scattered bones and such. Have you seen such a place?"
What's so important about this cave?
"Ah, an inquisitive sort! I like it!
I'm searching for a Nord beast-master named Nikolvara. My contacts tell me she possesses an enchanted whistle that can tame any creature in Tamriel. Marvelous, yes? Apparently she lives in a durzog lair nearby."

If you have not come across the whistle yet, you can ask:

Why do you need an enchanted whistle?
"Profit, of course! Durzogs make the perfect guard animals, but they're impossible to tame. If I could train and sell just one of those beasts, I'd make a fortune!
If you can acquire the whistle and figure out how it works, we'll split the profits."
I'll see what I can do.
"I'm headed to Bolgol Farm to warm up. It's not far. Just over the hill. After you test the whistle, you can find me there. Good luck!"
How do you expect me to get this whistle?
"Well, I leave the details to you. But I warn you, from everything I've heard, Nikolvara doesn't take kindly to visitors. She's something of a recluse, or so the locals tell me."
What brings a Dark Elf way out here?
"Haven't you heard? The Orcs are building a city! If there's a better opportunity for an enterprising young businessman, well, I've never heard of it."
An opportunity that involves durzogs?
"Truth be told, my original plan involved several casks of the finest Hlaalu wine, but who knew that the Orc palate was so … unsophisticated! They hated the stuff!
But a good businessman always has a back-up plan."
And yours involves durzogs?
"Yes, durzogs. Why is that so hard to grasp? I need something that will appeal to an Orc's sensibilities.
What could be better than a mangy, slobbering beast? The Orcs will pay a fortune for that!"

Acquire the whistle and return to him:

"Ah! If it isn't my esteemed business partner!
I smell profit, friend … and dog. But mostly profit! Did you find the whistle?"
I did. Here you go.

If you have the whistle in your possession when you first meet him, you can say:

Do you mean this whistle?

Either way, he'll reply with:

"Excellent! I can't wait to try it out for myself. I … uh, we'll be rich! Did you test it? How well did it work?"
It's just a normal whistle. Nikolvara tamed the durzogs through skill and patience.
"You're joking, right? I spent my last gold piece getting to this Three-forsaken wasteland! Bah! A pox on these Orcs and their stupid beasts!
I suppose you've earned your cut, such as it is. I'll need to find a new opportunity now."
[Lie] The whistle works perfectly.
"I knew it! May I?
I took the liberty of hiring this rather intense young lady. She deals in wild animals, you see. Ha! I can't wait to see the look on her face when I lull that beast into submission! Many thanks, friend. Here's your advance."

Complete the quest. If you told him the truth, he'll just stand there with Arushna's durzog behind him. Oddly Arushna will have left.

If you lied about the whistle, Fedar will try to use it on Arushna's durzog:

Fedar Githrano: "All right. Here it is. The moment of truth! Here, dugzog! That's a good durzog …."

The durzog approaches him:

Fedar Githrano: "Now sit! Sit, I said! Oh dear …."

The durzog continues to approach:

Fedar Githrano: "No! Get away from me! Aaaaugh!"

The durzong lunges, kills Fedar, and begins to eat him:

Arushna: "Stupid Dark Elf."

Notes[edit]

  • Fedar's dialogue states that he "has spent his last gold piece" getting to Wrothgar, yet he has gold to give you for a quest reward.
  • He also mentions a Bolgol Farm that doesn't exist in the game.
