Image quality[edit]

I would really like to get some feedback about the quality of this image. I'm interested in the background aspects, not the text that I have added to it. Yes, this was a screenshot from Skyrim. However, I'm playing on an Xbox360, and they are reputedly difficult to obtain screencap's from. I achieved this with the help of a high-res digital camera using the macro feature to get close to my 32" LCD TV, which interfaces with my XBox using an HDMI cable. The resolution and clarity of the image appears okay to me, but would such images be suitable on the main wiki pages? I understand that I would need to follow the instructions for images, such as the ratio and colour correction for images being added to the main wiki pages. Darictalk 04:46, 22 January 2013 (GMT)

The image has somewhat blurry edges and a distinct blue cast compared to actual screenshots. While camera-based shots have been used before when we were still missing a lot of Skyrim images, at this point, it's probably better to ask a PC player to grab them instead. Even for Dragonborn, the game is expected out for PC in a couple of weeks, so it's probably best just to wait for those one. Robin Hood  (talk) 05:00, 22 January 2013 (GMT)
Thanks RH, you read my mind. I was thinking of collecting some Dragonborn screenshots using this technique. I'll leave it for now then. I'd like to muck around with the Creation Kit one day, so I may yet buy the PC version. Of course, being a Linux user, I'd need to get it running properly, such as with Wine or PlayOnLinux.
