Hypocrite?[edit]

Why do you attack users for creating pages like the deadric banishing one but you create a page for a tomb that you cannot enter? Deanna 22:12, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

I didn't attack anybody for anything. I pointed out - as others had already - that the Daedric banishing effect is a script, not a magic effect. We don't document any other script effects, and starting now would set a bad precedent. Basically, since you can achieve anything with a script, creating a page for each new script leads to a potentially infinite number of pages only referenced from one place.
The page for the Tomb of Prince Camarril is something I've been mulling over for some time. The activator is always present in-game, so you can discover it at any point even outside the related quest. At that point, you might be tempted to search for "Prince Camarril" or some version of that, and we had nothing that matched. I thought about creating a redirect to the quest page, but it seemed like a bit of a spoiler to me so I created a brief page instead.
Now, are there any other edits of mine that you would like to discuss? rpeh •TCE 22:18, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Daedric banishing is covered on the Mehrune's Razor page. Any questions that need to be asked about it can be asked there. The Tomb of Prince Cammaril is not covered in-depth at any other page. Also the Tomb of Prince Cammaril is quest related.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 22:28, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Rpeh did not attack me. I liked the Daedric Banishing but rpeh and S'drassa explained to me that everything is already covered at the Mehrines Razor page. I was slighty discouraged with the deletion but I accepted it, knowing that it would lead to arguments, even warnings if I deciced not to listen anyone and do what I want to. I agree with TAO, the Tomb of Prince Cammaril is not covered anywhere and it is quest-related so it is a page that is more useful than Daedric Banishing. --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 12:26, 7 October 2010 (UTC) P.S. Thanks for the image here.

TR3 FA[edit]

Could you take a look at the page in question and see if I have a valid concern? It looks incomplete to me since only a few of the creatures on it have any sort of description about them.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 19:27, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Since I've been adding descriptions to a lot of the things on that page can you take a look and see if they're good?--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 20:06, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
I'm sorry - I missed your original point. Yes, you're right - the page needs more information and what you've added so far is great. It's always good to see quality content being added! rpeh •TCE 21:37, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Thanks!--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 21:40, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
So do you have any information about things like aggression for the TR3 specific creatures?--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 22:09, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

That right? Continued[edit]

Sorry that I'm bringing this back up, but right after you said this: "If you want to start looking through the ingame books for other figures to be added to the Lore:People pages, that'd be a big task off my list" It was right about when my internet went down and I couldn't reply. Just to be absolutely sure about what you mean (So I don't do several and find I'm doing it wrong), as an example, I'd add a Wheedle, from Beggar Prince (My favorite in-game book), addon to the Lore:People W page? Thanks, Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 19:46, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

That's the kind of thing, yes. At the moment we sometimes include that kind of person and sometimes don't. I'd rather be accused of including too much rather than missing out some important people. rpeh •TCE 19:49, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
What about people like Captain Torradan ap Dugal? --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 19:55, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
Well his journal is already in Lore space so I don't see why not. Maybe the thing to do here is make a list of people, along with the books that mention them and a brief note about who they are? They we can review and cut out the really, really inconsequential ones - or move them to an "others" page.
As long as you don't think it's too much of a trivial action, because I wouldn't want to do that. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 21:06, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Quick Ra'jiradh question[edit]

Hey rpeh! No worries, I will not involve you in the big and tedious on-going Ra'jiradh-investigation, I just wanted to ask a simple question. On his current page, there is a note stating that: Ra'jiradh was the quest-giver for the abandoned Imperial Couriers quest. He was to offer the contracts during the time he spends sitting in his chair between 7am and 8pm on Loredas, Sundas, Mondas and Tirdas. It seems like you added that note back in the day, so I wanted to ask; Where did that info come from? Any suggestions in the CS? Any additional info we should add – or at least know about? Thanks in advance! --Krusty 22:57, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

It was from his AI package named "ImpExProvideServicesRaJiradhMTWSu", but I might have been wrong - Urjabhi and Hassiri have a similar package. There are four other AI packages with similar names too, but they're not used. rpeh •TCE 05:32, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Ah, that makes sense. His article will most likely include a long ramble about the Courier-quest anyway (well, maybe not "long", but those Leyawiin-trips needs an explanation). Come to think of it; Have we ever created an entire article for an non-existent quest before? This thing affects so many NPCs and puzzles a lot of people, so maybe we should consider something like that? --Krusty 06:52, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Since so many people are involved in that quest, it might almost be a good idea to have a full article for it and just the current brief mention on the Unfinished Quests page. We've got several pages dedicated to NPCs that aren't in the game, after all. rpeh •TCE 11:34, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
I added all the important stuff to the page - things like aggression don't get added to any of the creature pages, unless I'm forgetting something. rpeh •TCE 22:52, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
I think this may be the wrong section but... I meant hostility (do they attack without provocation, do they attack with provocation etc.). Sorry about being unclear!--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 14:51, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Cartography Required[edit]

Could you take a look at this? If I remember correctly you're the most active user with cartography rights so I wanted to let you know.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 20:11, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Done. For future reference, the posts on CP and Morrowind Map Design would have been enough to get my attention though. rpeh •TCE 08:09, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

Image Cleanup Project[edit]

I went looking for specifications for NPC images, which I never found, but in the process, I came across UESPWiki:Image Cleanup Project. It's slightly out of date, so I thought I'd bring it to your attention as needing updated when you or someone else has a few minutes...unless there's somewhere else that I should be looking. (And if there is, we should add a link to the ONPCRP page.) If I knew all the image requirements, I'd do it myself, but I can't say that I do, other than that NPC images be square. Thanks. Robin Hoodtalk 09:28, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

I'd rather let it die. It was only ever Lurlock's "Let's Create A Project" Project, and should never have existed. If somebody comes across a bad image, they can slap a {{cleanup}} tag on it without needing an entire project to tell them how. The image specs need documenting somewhere, it's true, but Help:Images might be a better place for that. rpeh •TCE 11:15, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
That works for me. Robin Hoodtalk 11:18, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Opinion needed![edit]

Hey rpeh! A very quick question; I am in the process of creating a few "action shots" for the Dawnstar walkthrough - and, as you can see on my secret walkthrough page, I have tried to maintain the AR as it "is" on the phone. However, I think the almost square image looks a bit awkward in a walkthrough context - so; would it be better to make them 4:3 and cut off a bit from the top and bottom of the images? --Krusty 19:46, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Well, personally I think it looks fine but I can't speak for anyone else.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 19:50, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
The mobile games gain 100% leeway in terms of screenshots! I'm not just saying that because I did the SK images, but because of simple logistics. PC/Console games operate on one type of monitor, and mobile games operate on another. Instead of WYSIWYG, it's more sensible to go to Discworld and WYSIWYGATNSCAI (What you see is what you're given and there's no sense complaining about it - I may not have the right phrase I can't be bothered looking it up).
In short, if certain people tell me that my SK images should technically be cleaned up, I'll simply tell him that Ajax are rubbish at football ;-) I tell them about the technical problems with the game. In other words - something is better than nothing!
At some point I'll take a closer look at the SK/DS/SH/OBM code to work out how the images were constructed and then we may be able to get clearer pics. Until then.... better something than nothing. rpeh •TCE 01:57, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
Well, the quality of the images doesn't really bother me at all; like you said, the fact that we can even display images (speaking from a DS point of view, since I'm unsure about the N-gage's abilities to take screenshots) is a huge step in the right direction - and something I never thought would happen when I played through Dawnstar the first time. I was concerned with the AR, and the layout of the Dawnstar walkthrough page - while we do it with NPCs in the OB namespace (square images for profile shots, 4:3 for action shots), I was simply thinking that the (only) walkthrough page for Dawnstar would appear better if I changed the AR of the images to a 4:3 format more consistent with all the other quest pages. --Krusty 05:50, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Help[edit]

I know that you are online right now (I watch Recent Changes), so I want your help. I added a userbox at my User Page that says that I am currently mentored by Arch-Mage Matt. However, because used the Mentor userbox and just changed the text, I am listed as a Mentor at the list. Can you help me remove my self from the list without changing my userbox? --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 10:48, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Done. I basically copied the code from the {{User Mentor}} template but removed the bit that adds the category. rpeh •TCE 11:02, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
I saw it. Thank you very much for the fast response and the help. :) --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 11:03, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Could you take a look at this?[edit]

Hey rpeh! RH70 and I have been working the complicated Khajiiti of the Black Horse Courier, but a big (and probably rare) problem have occurred - since it is only a matter of time before I launch the pages without a proper description and add all three of them to the "Problematic NPCs" page, I thought that maybe you could come up with the answer - or at least a theory. Besides the problem, all three brothers are finished and ready to launch. Thanks in advance. Oh, and the problem can be found here. --Krusty 17:06, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

I've replied on RH's talk page - no sense in splitting things up further. rpeh •TCE 09:40, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

Help[edit]

Since you are online right now (I watch Recent Changes), can you help me add link from our Wikipedia article at the appropriate pages (mostly users)? I do not know how. Divine Intervention destination[edit]

I think I figured out the distance formula for deciding the destination of Divine Intervention. I posted my answer on my own talk page. --Brf 15:05, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

I posted new Divine Intervention and Almsivi Intervention maps on my two Maps pages. They do not have a legend or anything, so I do not know if they need any more work before using them to replace the existing ones. --Brf 00:29, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
Those are both brilliant. And they show just how messed up things are - especially when you compare them to the current versions. I can't test them very much because my MCP-ed version of the game crashes if I remove the Tamriel Rebuilt files, meaning that Divine Intervention goes to Firewatch from Rotheran.
I think they need keys (although that could be done on the wiki rather than the image, if you prefer) but otherwise go ahead and overwrite the existing ones. Really top work! rpeh •TCE 07:47, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Opinion[edit]

Roland Jenseric Images?[edit]

Hey rpeh! Absolutely no rush with this one, but I figured I'd post it, in case you should decide to pull out your camera at some point. I just added a ton of info to Roland Jenseric's page and, as usual, the page became so massive that it needs a few images to improve. While you are totally free to make your own decisions, allow me to come up with a few suggestions:

  • A new square image, showing more of Roland, taken in his cabin.
  • A new 4:3 action shot of the Order, with Seridur in front - for the quest page and to be placed right below Roland's NPC summary.
  • A new 4:3 action shot of the Order, with Roland in front - for Roland's page, instead of the current one.

These are merely suggestions, and if you can come up with anything else (e.g. the garden where it all took place, Roland's house ect ect), I would be most grateful. Thanks in advance! --Krusty 11:09, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

I'll see what I can do. Working on the SI map at the moment, and playing Fallout: New Vegas (and X3:TC) in the breaks, but when I get back into an OB-mood I'll make those a priority. rpeh •TCE 11:25, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I've uploaded a new image of Roland, and what do you think of these two images? Not perfect, but the best I can do right now. rpeh •TCE 13:22, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
What a nice thing to come home to after a long day wiothout the Wiki - thank you so much! Images really spice up the larger pages and this one is no exception. Page is still massive and loaded with info (I'm more or less certain this is one of the largest non-vip NPC pages from vanilla Oblivion, mainly because of the possible outcomes of the quest. Later on, we can discuss if some of the dialogue should go on Seridur's page, but for now, we have ALL the Roland-information up and running. Thanks again. --Krusty 17:37, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Bogrum Gro-Galash[edit]

Since you took his picture, the things behind him, are clocks from the Clocks of Cyrodiil mod? --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 12:34, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Yes. As I've already said once before. rpeh •TCE 12:44, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

What did your last slave die of? rpeh •TCE 12:53, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
I didn't meant that, I just asked. I didn't say it ironicly. I meant no offense or anything. Do you really have to react this way? An "I can't" or "I don't want" would have been enough. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 12:58, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
How about the reply "I would, but my time keeps getting taken up by having to supply three replies to a question I answered last month"? rpeh •TCE 13:08, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
Sounds fine unless I misunderstood anything. By the way, keep up the good work at the Tamriel Rebuilt pages. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 13:12, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Ayasofya[edit]

I want your opinion at this. There is a Byzantine church at Turkey called "Agia Sofia". Maybe a reference? --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 10:35, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

A vague similarity of name doesn't make a reference. There's nothing that links a largely anonymous region of Hammerfell to a particularly fine example of Byzantine architecture. rpeh •TCE 10:41, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
