Copyright[edit]

What was the issue that made you remove the copyright categories you added to ESImage et al? Robin Hood  (talk) 20:03, 31 December 2012 (GMT)

Well, at first I figured re-adding them was kind of a no-brainer, since I'm a big fan of categories, other copyright types have categories, and it makes finding which images have which copyright template much more pleasant than running through WhatLinksHere (which is what I was using to convert images from {{esimage}} to {{uespimage}}). However, as was mentioned in an AN archive, it also makes images that are otherwise uncategorized not show up in Special:UncategorizedFiles. I really hoped that UncategorizedFiles ignored hidden categories, but no such luck.
Anyway, as much as it hurts my poor compulsive brain, I figure it's more important to have images show up properly in Uncategorized Files than to fulfill my urge to categorize everything under the sun ;). Unless you can think of a way to get the best of both worlds...? eshetalk 00:01, 1 January 2013 (GMT)
It should also be noted that the categories aren't always appropriate. Not all images that use the templates are copyrighted by Bethesda. —Legoless (talk) 00:30, 1 January 2013 (GMT)

1:1 Battlespire Images[edit]

Almost all Battlespire NPC images have an 8:11 ratio. The Battlespire namespace has much more urgent tasks that need to be done (see the SSCP); image ratio reform is a wasted effort. —Legoless (talk) 04:44, 3 January 2013 (GMT)

I understand and agree that Battlespire has bigger problems than its images, but I don't see that as a reason to not try and improve the images. A cleanimage tag isn't going to hurt anything, and besides—square creature images started coming in not long after I stuck tags on them, so it's not as if the tag is necessarily going to sit there forever. The mixture of ratios looks terrible on the pages, and 1:1 is our standard for other games (not to mention it fills up the page better than the itsy 8:11 ones). It'll get done soon enough, and the namespace will look better for it. eshetalk 12:27, 3 January 2013 (GMT)

Stuck on a quest because of a glitch.[edit]

I'm playing on oblivion PC and doing the Ritual Of Mania quest on the shivering isles. I need to speak to Wide-Eye, and I have, however the quest doesn't move on. It just says that I still have to speak to her no matter what. This has happened before and I just loaded and tried again, however this time my last save was ages ago and I don't want to do it all again. Please help me, it's a real pain! — Unsigned comment by 217.42.158.92 (talk) at 10:49 on 3 January 2013‎

Well, I'm no bug expert, and I don't see anything about this particular bug on the quest page or talk page, but let's give this a shot. Have you tried forcing the quest to update using the console? Here's the instructions from the bottom of the quest page:
On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering setstage SE07B stage, where stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages. See SetStage for more information.
Unless you want it to just skip right to the end of the quest, find the stage you're on (it looks like you might want 15, but your journal should show you) and just enter the code for the one right after it. Hope that helps! eshetalk 17:08, 3 January 2013 (GMT)

Bandits[edit]

A great expansion of the Bandit article. Kudos to you and anyone who helped with it! Obviously, a great deal of time and effort. --JR (talk) 09:34, 5 January 2013 (GMT)

Thanks, JR! I had a lot of help from Helena, Alfwyn, and Vely, and probably a bunch more I'm forgetting (sorry!). So glad to be done with that thing—oof! eshetalk 14:08, 5 January 2013 (GMT)

Draugr Wight[edit]

Krusty suggested that I speak to you for this issue (or lack of knowledge =P), but on my sandbox with the Draugr Wight Lord section, both Krusty and I have never encountered such a creature. He said you might know something about it? Anyway next time you and I are on the IRC could you please tell me what you know? Sorry if this message is confusing...I'm not the best with words. - Chez talkemail 07:02, 24 January 2013 (GMT)

I can tell you that they exist, but they're pretty rare. They're only used as bosses, and only in a couple of level ranges. Nominally, they appear at levels 6-12 for one list, and 21-29 for another, though those levels are modified by a number of other things, so you may run into them at other levels slightly outside those ranges. Skyrim:Draugr[edit]

Skyrim:Draugr Images: Thanks for changing to creatures. Henceforth duly noted. (can delete once read) - Snowolf69 (talk) 20:32, 30 January 2013 (GMT)

No problem! The Hotcat gadget has been acting up lately, so there probably was no easy way to add categories when you uploaded them anyway. Don't worry about it ;). eshetalk 20:35, 30 January 2013 (GMT)
My mistake since when I looked at them they were human...-ish so my first thought as "NPC" rather than "creature" - Snowolf69 (talk) 21:41, 30 January 2013 (GMT)

Master Vampire (DG)[edit]

After seeing the redoing of the vampire page, my image of the Master Vampire in DG armor rather sticks out like a boring sore thumb so I would like to retake it. In your request, you specified they had red eyes so I wanted to accentuate that but I will retake it in good enough lighting to well enough show the new armor while using its magic / weapon. I also wanted to ask if it should be File:DG-npc-Master Vampire instead of File:SR-npc-Master Vampire since it is specific to the DG DLC. - Snowolf69 (talk) 16:08, 10 February 2013 (GMT)

The "SR" prefix is correct. Reupload the new version here. Action shots are hard to take, so don't stress it if you can't make it in a similar fashion to the other vamp images. —Legoless (talk) 16:25, 10 February 2013 (GMT)
Done. Looks much better than my first attempt. - Snowolf69 (talk) 16:58, 10 February 2013 (GMT)
It looks fantastic! Thanks Snowolf! eshetalk 17:07, 10 February 2013 (GMT)

Werewolf / Lycanthropy images[edit]

I've taken a few werewolf images and wanted to let you preview them to decide if you can use any of them. If any are approved, reply here and specify where and how they will be used so I can format them accordingly and upload them for you to put where you'd like. I have not come across any in a cage since you put up the request but if you would still like one, it would help if you knew where one might be.

Are you using third party textures? Something looks wrong with the rock walls. —Legoless (talk) 00:46, 14 February 2013 (GMT)
Its on Solstheim in a snowy area so the blue color wall is glacier, not rock but I have edited the game values just to enhance some of the colors. - Snowolf69 (talk) 01:41, 14 February 2013 (GMT)
I could definitely use those, yes! The first one and the last one in particular are very cool. I don't necessarily need a caged one—I just don't want to use the same image for both articles, and I thought having one in a cage or near a cage would be a nice way to distinguish between the enemy werewolves and the player werewolf. If you're looking, though, here's what the current version of the article says: "In Gallows Rock, there are two in cages; in Driftshade Refuge, there is one not in a cage." I haven't checked to see if that's true, but those are Silver Hand lairs so I would expect you'd have some luck there. Thanks again! I'm excited :D. eshetalk 02:16, 14 February 2013 (GMT)
I'm not sure if it's wise to use non-vanilla images. Would it be possible to get a shot without the edited game values? —Legoless (talk) 02:33, 14 February 2013 (GMT)
I've taken a few more similar after disabling all lighting, FX, visual add-ons, and textures mods. - Snowolf69 (talk) 04:56, 14 February 2013 (GMT)
Front full day: 1 2 3
Front full night: 1 2
Transform day: 1
Transform night: 1 2 3 4 5
Attack day: 1
Werewolf Brute 1 2 3
These are great too! I could definitely put them to work :D.
Right, so, werewolfattackday.jpg is cool, but I love werewolfattck.jpg...although I guess I would probably tone down the blue a bit before uploading it. Is there anything modded about the werewolf itself in that image? It's just the color of the ice that was adjusted, right? If that's all it was, it shouldn't be too hard to make the ice color look more "normal."
I would probably use werewolftransformnight2.jpg as the intro to SR:Lycanthropy, and probably werewolfattck.jpg for SR:Werewolf (I can't get over how cool that shot is, seriously!), so I would need those to be 4:3. werewolffrontfullday1.jpg would be good for an additional image somewhere else on Lycanthropy (also 4:3), and I could use the other two werewolffrontfullnight2.jpg and werewolfbrute3.jpg on the Werewolf page as well (so those last two would need to be 1:1).
Hooray images! Thanks so much again for doing this :). eshetalk 14:36, 14 February 2013 (GMT)
I fixed the saturation and color palate for the attack image so its vanilla. This should be all finished so I'll put them up numbered and if all are approved as is, reply specifying exactly what to name each so I can upload them. - Snowolf69 (talk) 19:40, 14 February 2013 (GMT)
1 2 3 4 5

() Yay! I think you're headed in the right direction with the file names already, so let's go with this:

Meanwhile, I shall do the happy image dance :D. eshetalk 19:56, 14 February 2013 (GMT)

.
Assuming this has fulfilled your request, you should take that down now. I will also remove all the images from my imageshack so the links will no longer work. I would also like your opinion on the Featured Images page for my image. - Snowolf69 (talk) 21:28, 14 February 2013 (GMT)

Center[edit]

Just a quick FYI. On the main page, the center tag in the FA paragraph isn't closed, so it's affecting the rest of the column. Elliot (talk) 07:06, 21 February 2013 (GMT)

I went ahead and fixed it :) --Krusty (talk) 08:23, 21 February 2013 (GMT)
Thanks, Krusty! eshetalk 14:08, 21 February 2013 (GMT)

Pack Members[edit]

Hey Eshe. Since you overhauled the SR:Werewolf article, I was wondering if you knew what to do with werewolf Pack Members? They're added by Dawnguard. —Legoless (talk) 19:04, 25 February 2013 (GMT)

Okay, I totally saw this when you posted it, but then completely forgot to respond—sorry about that! I think they should definitely go on SR:Lycanthropy (since they're kind of like the "companions" that come with Falmer and vampires, and that seems like the most logical spot for them). I'll whip up a section for them today. Thanks for the image :). eshetalk 14:34, 1 March 2013 (GMT)
I take that back. I guess it makes more sense to me to put them on Werewolf, since they kind of are a type of werewolf and actually use one of those guys as a template. A link over there should do the trick, I think. Thanks again, Legoless! eshetalk 15:06, 1 March 2013 (GMT)
No problem, glad you found a place to put them. —Legoless (talk) 17:57, 2 March 2013 (GMT)
