Well hi there![edit]

I'm back on a sort of tentative basis. Surprise! If you're looking for older posts, see the archives over thar -->. So, whatcha need, folks? –Eshetalk 19:56, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

Welcome back! :) elliot (talk) 02:20, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, Elliot :). –Eshetalk 14:13, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

Re:[edit]

All of the ones I removed are things that I know for a fact are either untrue or have been fixed by 1.4. I guess I can leave a message about that on the talk page if you want, but there's really not much more to say than I know that they're not real. ThuumofReason 18:39, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
That's fine, actually. I don't pretend to be an expert on Skyrim bugs, so I figured it might be helpful to get a little clarification. Thanks for getting back to me! –Eshetalk 18:42, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for the welcome and the information! The standards of the UESP are so high it's almost scary. :-) I'll do my best to get acquainted with the guidelines before doing any edits. And here we go: I hope it is ok to post this on a talk page at all? But then again, it's no emergency, so I did not want to Email it. Anyway, greetings! Holomay 21:49, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

Of course it's okay to post here! Hi!
It's good to hear that you plan to take the time to look over the guidelines, but don't let them intimidate you. You don't have to be perfect, so go ahead and jump in whenever you feel ready :). Let me know if you have any questions! –Eshetalk 00:14, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

Uploading Images Properly/Deleting Incorrect Ones[edit]

I know you posted about using the link allowing me to upload images, but I'm afraid that I chose the wrong one. Is there a way I can delete the incorrect upload, or at least edit its comment? NickMoose 02:59, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Actually, it looks like you did fine. You can always edit the description of a file by clicking the edit tab at the top of the page (or by double-clicking on the page, if you have that feature enabled). The old image (File:SR-interior-Proudspire_Manor_UI-Removed.jpg) will be marked for deletion since it's been replaced by a better shot, so you don't need to worry about that one. I reverted back to the clean version you uploaded and took off the cleanup tag, since frankly I think it looks fantastic. Feel free to put whatever you want under the Summary header ;).
If you're thinking about doing more images, there's a whole gaggle of images that have UI elements that need some cleanup. We could always use more people with good image skills around here! –Eshetalk 13:52, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Featured Article[edit]

Hi Eshe. Can you please have a look at the discussion here in concern with featuring Lore:Khajiit on the main page? Thanks. --Legoless 12:37, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, I actually did see that before I bumped it up for the next FA. Nobody said anything about passing it over for more than one month, and I figured if nothing else it can go up for a shorter span (since the last one ran longer than a month) so we can get back to the Skyrim articles. I don't really feel strongly about it, to be honest, but I do sort of feel like it ought to be featured properly, at least for a little while. Thanks for letting me know, though! eshetalk 17:09, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

Posted on my talk page[edit]

Yes I will try now I am sorry about not using the preveiw button but I never seem to notice the problems untill after. Hope I havn't caused any trouble.

PS. can you take a look at the Skyrim glitches talk page fore me. I have put in a few thingsIi have found. Cheers, KingK 16:40, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

Don't worry about it! It just really helps if people can cut down on multiple edits to the same post, so that's why I brought it up.
As for the glitches, I'm afraid there's not much I can do. I'm not an expert in bugs and the like, and I jealously guard my in-game time for actually playing the game ;). I'm sure someone will come along and check it out soon, though! eshetalk 16:51, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

Yeah I can see your point about the edits. And "as for glitches" <---See wht I did there :), I am an expert at both finding and doing them. The only problem I have is I don't want to edit the main articles as I find that calls for someone more experienced. KingK 17:00, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

Trail & Category on Creatures Page[edit]

Hey, thanks for catching that messup I made and re-adding the trail and category. I was originally working in my sandbox to make all those changes, but instead of saving and going back to it, I ended up just leaving the tab open, and when I came back to it and finished it I forgot all about removing those. Oops! Anyway, thanks for that. :) ABCface 21:18, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

No problem :). It's just a little thing anyway, and the only reason I caught it was because I check Special:UncategorizedFiles and Special:UncategorizedPages daily, or as often as I remember. At first glance I really like the overhaul, by the way. At some point I'll take a closer look and give some more feedback over on the talk page ;). eshetalk 22:24, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

Thanks...[edit]

...for taking care of that vandal on my page. No idea what that was about. —SkoomaManiac TalkContribs 16:17, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

Heh, no problem. When I'm stuck at home coughing my brains out, zapping vandals makes me feel mighty :P. eshetalk 16:21, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
Allergies bad? —SkoomaManiac TalkContribs 16:33, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
Thankfully, no allergies (well, except penicillin and morphine--that was a fun discovery). Nope...just suddenly and strangely sick...the week before my best friend's bachelorette party :\. eshetalk 16:43, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
Get well soon :)

Green Tea works wonders when you aren't feeling well. ESQuestion?EmailContribs 17:13, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

() I hope you feel better in time!! —SkoomaManiac TalkContribs 18:04, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

Thanks guys :). Feeling a little better, but still meh. Drinking lots of tea seems to help, at least! eshetalk 17:04, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

Image Licensing[edit]

I just noticed that you changed the licensing for the File SR-Item-Quicksilver.jpg (sorry, don't know how to link without leaving an image on your talk page) from "uespimage" to "esimage." I was wondering about the reasoning behind the change. I have been shooting, editing, and uploading several shots and licensing them as "uespimage." Am I doing something wrong? Should they all be licensed as "esimage?" Hope your feeling better! Coronus 18:12, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

I went ahead and changed it back to {{uespimage}}. We need to use that for any images that a user takes themselves. elliot (talk) 18:17, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Elliot! I'm glad I wasn't leaving a messy trail of improperly uploaded images. Coronus 20:11, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I got my templates all backwards for a day or two there...*cough*...Elliot's right, you should use the uespimage license for your screenshots ;). eshetalk 14:02, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
No problem. Everyone has days like that ... "jpg.jpg" *cough* ;) ...I was just wanted to be sure I did not need to change the license on all my image posts. Coronus 19:50, 11 April 2012 (UTC)
Yep, you're fine. Really as long as an image has one or the other (and not, say {{Nolicense}} or something), I think it's okay, though {{uespimage}} is technically the right one for screenshots. Nice ingredient shots, by the way! Between the two of us we'll have them all covered in no time :). eshetalk 20:03, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

Can I link with other wikis[edit]

since I don't want to update 2 different stat pages can I just link with another wiki page from another wiki also how can I get User:Candc4FTW/Talk working right----Candc4,Burn baby burn CT 19:25, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

I'm...not totally sure what you're asking, so here goes. Yeah, if you want to you can just link to your profile from another wiki. With regard to your subpage, I really can't say...if you could explain what you're trying to do with it, I might be able to help. eshetalk 19:28, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
Its a talk bubble it needs to look like this — Unsigned comment by Candc4 (talkcontribs) on 9 April 2012
Well, to answer your question, it doesn't work here because we don't have a Talk template. To be honest though, we really don't need that template to exist. If we started using templates just to post on a talk page, our servers would probably quit outright. You'll probably just have to settle for a custom signature instead. Sorry! eshetalk 20:09, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
Also is this image good for all the copyright stuff and other stuff File:Serah Farron.png----Candc4,Burn baby burn CT 20:25, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

() To hop in here, the image with copyright info is here, and goes under US fair use copyright law. Legal lingo sometimes goes over my head, but those are the links. I think it's okay. Vely►Talk►Email 20:41, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

The fair use license is used in that situation because the Final Fantasy wiki is using the image to portray the related subject. Using it here wouldn't fall under fair use, so it would be best to delete it. However, I doubt anyone at Square Enix cares or will ever find out. --Legoless 22:52, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
Well Square Enix better not, I spent over $1000 in Products from SE and I am getting the new story add on for FF XIII-2 and if that would change my mind I like company's that care about their fans like Bethesda.----Candc4,Burn baby burn CT 23:09, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
I really don't think "they don't care and probably wouldn't find out" is a good reason to keep material that violates copyright. If it's really the case that it doesn't fall under fair use, or any of the other licensing stuff we can use, it need to be deleted. eshetalk 23:21, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
I don't know if it actually violates copyright (there may be some license we could use), but, like I said, if it doesn't fall under fair use then it's probably safest to just delete it. --Legoless 23:47, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
Yeah...and besides that, I'm not sure how US fair use applies to us, since technically we're Canadian. In any case it looks like it might be unused shortly, so deleting it will probably be less of an issue :). eshetalk 23:50, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
I just deleted my page----Candc4,Burn baby burn CT 23:52, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

() I went ahead and uh...terminated the image. It probably wouldn't have been a big issue, but better safe than sorry. Thanks for understanding :). eshetalk 13:59, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Email[edit]

Heads up, I sent you an email. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 20:24, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

Got it--thanks! eshetalk 20:30, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

Quick Question[edit]

Hi eshe, I thought I'd ask you this as I thought you'd know the answer. Are non-patroller users (like me!) allowed to post welcome messages (like the one on my talk page) to new users, and also warnings? -- DoL 16:30, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

I can answer for you: You're welcome to post welcome messages for new users, however, we have an (unwritten?) policy of only giving a welcome message to a user after they have started contributing to the site. Warnings, you can do as well, but remember to assume good faith when you're looking at edits. ESQuestion?EmailContribs 16:36, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
...
<what he said> eshetalk 16:39, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, Eric! I was wondering, because I've posted a welcome to a new user, and I was starting to think that only patrollers could do it. - DoL 16:42, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

Have no idea if I am doing this right. The site has so many rules about how to format posts it's no wonder there's confusion. I had questions about the edits you said you had to change of mine, to find out which ones were the problems, how to use my talk page you referred to because the directions don't help (and I'm a web designer). But your message says that you have left the site now? Don't blame you, especially if you were doing this for free. No one else has contacted me in the month or so I've been posting, so I guess it wasn't a big problem. I'll see what the next Editor says. --Anathema 00:52, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

Okay, just ignore what I said, if you see it. :) Looks like Velyanthe's given you lots of good advice and responded to your questions. :) Robin Hoodtalk 05:47, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
