Welcome![edit]

Hello and welcome to UESPWiki! Thank for your interest in the wiki. If you would like to experiment with how to edit, you may want to try editing in our sandbox. Adding nonsense to UESPWiki articles disrupts those pages and forces other editors to spend time cleaning up the pages. You may also want to look over our style guide and Getting Started guide. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. --RpehTalk 14:12, 1 September 2007 (EDT)

Prima Guide[edit]

Hi there. I noticed you've made a lot of "edits" by simply copying content from the Prima Strategy Guide. That sort of thing generally isn't allowed here, as it is more or less tantamount to plagiarism. Plagiarism is illegal, and by extension, it's something that's generally good to avoid. So in summary, keep making edits and contributing, but don't copy things from the game guide. --Saruuk 01:41, 2 September 2007 (EDT)

Not only is copying from the Prima game guide unacceptable as plagiarism, in addition it is explicitly forbidden. The first page of the game guide states: "No part of or image appearing in this publication may be ... placed on the Internet or world wide web or transmitted in any form." If you would like to provide original contributions (i.e., content that you have writtten in your own words), that would be acceptable. But adding copyrighted material to the site is not. --NepheleTalk 02:00, 2 September 2007 (EDT)

Don't worry i'm not going to edit anything here, ever again. It always gets deleted, or so on. It's pointless.

It gets deleted because it's plagiarism. Lots of stuff gets posted here all the time that doesn't get deleted. If you wrote the articles yourself, they would be allowed, but we simply cannot accept material copied from other websites or game guides. It's not that we don't appreciate the submissions, it's that we don't want to get sued for copyright infringement. Write something original instead of copying from the game guide or another website, and you might not see all your edits getting deleted in the future. --TheRealLurlock Talk 10:57, 2 September 2007 (EDT)
