Nudge![edit]

Hey Kalis! I can see you're in a spell-mood today, so here's a few suggestions: Shivering:Wide-Eye (needs more than spells, but I can take care of the inventory within seconds) and Oblivion:Sakeepa. There was one more, but I can't find him/her. Anyways, just a few pages we can finish quickly! :) --Krusty 18:25, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

Hey, Krusty! No problem, I'll take care of that in no-time... Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 18:27, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
I went ahead and completed Wide-Eye. Geez, I'm completing these fast! Perhaps too fast... o.O --Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 18:34, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

User Talk Pages[edit]

Actually, people can delete all they want from their own talk pages - they're personal, and sometimes people dislike having their mistakes displayed for all to see. Which is fair enough, I guess. -- Krusty 23:59, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

DOH! Sorry about that... perhaps I should read through the Welcome Message links again... hahahaha.... I figured I'd leave it the last time since he blanked the whole page. It wasn't clear to me what he was doing exactly..... Anyway, sorry about that.--Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 00:01, 4 August 2011 (UTC)

Stop This Now[edit]

This a warning as a blocker and a Patroller. Do not continue this fight. I have placed the same warning at the other's page. If you revert my edit you will be temporarily blocked. --DKong27 Tk Ctr Em 00:18, 4 August 2011 (UTC)

Wait... What???? I didn't remove anything after I was warned... so... I say again... what? I was just trying to apologize and end what I started... Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 00:21, 4 August 2011 (UTC)

Heh, that seems to have gotten me in trouble multiple times (the Jmartinez incident is a good example I suppose). Sorry about this you guys... Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 00:29, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
Discussion is over. And Kalis, you are absolutely correct. Please try to be patient with problematic editors. --Krusty 00:31, 4 August 2011 (UTC)

Hmm. I can't seem to get my bot to log in properly before editing.
Any ideas?
Broccollipie 00:03, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Hey, Broccollipie! Well, I myself have actually had a bot in the works for about two weeks now but have been testing it elsewhere; thus, I have next to no knowledge of UESP-related bot issues. Try asking Rpeh as he's had a bot for a long time now and should be able to help you out. However, do keep in mind that he lives in the UK and thus it will take a little while for him to respond due to the timezone difference. Hope that helps.--Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 00:07, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
Thanks!
Sorry for the trouble. I see Eddie the Head has reverted another change.
I guess I'll have to nut this one out before I attempt another test.

Patroller Nomination[edit]

I've just nominated you for the role of Patroller, and I'm sorry that it's taken so long. I know you've already expressed an interest in the position, but please could you indicate your acceptance on the nomination page just as a matter of form. Good luck! rpeh •TCE 00:36, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

Ah no worries about the wait. :) I'll go ahead and head on over. Thanks for the nomination!--Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 02:28, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

NAMESPACE vs. Lore[edit]

This is something that has been bugging me awhile now. But since you changed them recently, what are your thoughts on having one over the other? Many of those pages are transcluded out of the Lore namespace, which causes a Link in the... Morrowind namespace, for instance. I'm not particularly against either, I just think we should pick one and stick with it. Elliot (talk) 01:41, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

Personally I think the NAMESPACE tags are a little redundant; on the Morrowind:House Indoril page, I seems to be even a little more logical to leave out NAMESPACE from the link as it links to another namespace, making the site more interconnected (site interconnectivity seems to be a reasoning I use quite often :\ ). While I wouldn't neccessarily be against including NAMESPACE in the transcluded articles, I would rather we leave them out of the links.--Kalis AgeaYes? Good to be back![edit]

Thanks; I've already got a few lore candidates in mind for when I'm done with my little hyphen "project". Minor Edits 01:53, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

Yep, I myself find myself in the middle of a huge project (removing "see main article" from the Lore namespace transclusion). Speaking of projects, I'm almost ready to start a discussion about the LPRP draft on the Communtiy Portal. If you don't mind, could you head on over and give me your thoughts (after all, it's far from perfect :D). Thanks, and happy editing!--Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 02:00, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for doing that; that's a big one but definitely worth it. I'll take a look at the outline and see if I have something to say. Minor Edits 02:15, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

LPRP[edit]

Thanks, I'm flattered you liked the suggestions. I just want to impress on you how little I care. Wait, that came out wrong. What I mean is, that's merely a jumping-off point, so don't hesitate for a second to change things as you see fit or if someone else wants to change something. No one knows better than me how little I know.

Anyways, it occurred to me that there was some ambiguity and debate about how, and whether, to cite to game-specific info (like "Dialogue heard during the Oblivion Crisis", ect.), so you might want to flesh out a specific policy on what to cite, as well. 174.30.234.83 02:29, 8 September 2011 (UTC) Stupid automatic sign-off ... I don't think we can really host that image - especially claiming a CC-by-SA license for it. Band logos are always copyrighted, and there's not even a "Fair Use" justification since the file is just going on a user page. Please could you remove the image from your page and proposed it for deletion, then I can clean it up quickly. rpeh •TCE 16:13, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

Heh, no problem. I actually wasn't sure in the first place. :D Sorry bout that.--Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 03:52, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for that. We're trying to tighten up on copyright a bit. rpeh •TCE 08:30, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

A Reward for Many Things[edit]

PlateofCookies.gif
You have been given a plateful of cookies!

I've noticed that not only did I fail to congratulate you on your election as a Patroller but I've also failed to thank you for your help in approving almost every aspect of the site. You've taken my vaguest suggestion and left its wildest expectations choking in the dust as dozens of Lore articles have been turned from wastes of space into something of which UESP can be proud. rpeh •TCE 23:16, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Thanks rpeh! The inadequacy of the Lore namespace had bothered me for a while, but I hadn't gotten the, shall we say, "nerve" to make contributions to the namesapce. Thanks for all your help, encouragement, etc (that goes for many others as well; you know who you are). And as a plus, it's always nice to know that some years from now, I'll be able to look back and say "I helped build that". And, as another plus, I get... COOKIES! MY PRECIOUSSSESSS!!! :) Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 23:27, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

GIitch[edit]

Hi, i've recently created this account as a result of my Oblivion being slightly glitchy. It seems that i've come across a few people with strange, purple coloured faces. I don't think this is due to sickness or disease, nor is it because i've used a mod. I play on xbox, and i've got no expansions. Do you know the cause of this? Thanks.— Unsigned comment by Propadomz (talkcontribs) at 13:43 on 16 October 2011

The cause of this problem is most likely one of two things. a) Your Oblivion disk is damaged, and your console cannot read the disk correctly. Because of this, some meshes/textures are missing and thus have to be replaced with the "purple faces"; I assume this was implemented by Bethesda to prevent any subsequent major problems. This is the most likely cause, though I suppose there is a chance that I'm wrong, and is further validated by the fact that this happened to me on the PC not long before my disk absolutely could not work anymore. However, the other possibility is that your console is simply starting to malfunction (this happened on my XBox version of OB, and a similar glitch occured with COD4 on that same console) most likely due to aging. If the problem is indeed the former, cleaning the disk and/or getting a scratch removal kit should work (although I wouldn't recommend getting a sratch removal kit as a new copy of OB might be cheaper). If it is the latter, I honestly don't know of a solution; I'm not very good with console systems. Hope that helps. :) Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 04:25, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

I want to get started on Skyrim... Help please?[edit]

Hey, So, I'm quite new to this. I have edited a few Wikipedia pages in the past. Mainly spelling errors and broken links. Could you possibly help me with a couple of character pages? Maybe walk me through editing 1 or 2 so that I get the hang of it and then I'll try to go it alone. I already have one Skyrim character in mind. I picked a very minor one as it won't matter too much if I get it wrong. I started by trying to embed an image and it hasn't gone well so far. Do you host the images or do I have to find somewhere for that? I couldn't find how to upload a picture in the help pages.

Many thanks

El Panda 13:22, 14 November 2011 (UTC)

Well, first thing's first: you may want to head over to Getting Started for less specific issues than this. In regards to the image problem, when creating a regular image, simply type the following, ; when creating a thumbnail image (allows you to add a description) type . For example, typing in will get the result:
IMAGE RESULT
Hope that helps. As for actually writing pages, I'd recommend creating a sandbox. To do this, simply type "User:El Panda/Sandbox" into the searchbox (you can name your sandbox whatever you like, for example "User:El Panda/PandaBearz"). From there, just use what you know to create what you can, and then I'll suggest things to do on the talkpage. Hope that helps.--Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 04:56, 15 November 2011 (UTC)

Hey I just wanted to see if I could report a possible glitch in Skyrim.[edit]

Ok so I am playing through the Main quest. On Alduin's wall Quest I chose to meet up with Delphine instead of traveling with her. When i get to the place the marker shows, I see Delphine but it shows her as an enemy, and she attacks me. She is impossible to kill. At first i thought she might have been put under an enemy's illusion spell, but when i killed the nearby enemies she continued to attack me, and she wouldnt stop. I tried to go outside and back in (Killing a Dragon on a rampage then coming back in) but she continued to attack. I am playing on an Xbox 360 that is about 2 years old. I didnt see any marks anywhere on the disk, so I have no idea what is happening. Thanks! -Garael the Dragonborn 76.27.79.147 17:11, 26 November 2011 (UTC)

Discerneing The Transmundane Bug where you cant finish it after you turn in the lexicon (spoilers)[edit]

I found a much needed and very useful fix to the bug where you cant finish the quest and it says to wait. To fix this on the xbox i extracted my savegame.dat and switched it to a .ess and loaded it up on the PC version and went into the console and typed - setstage da04 40 - this will automatically jump you to the next part where you need to find the blood samples from the different races. I am sure others have already mentioned this but i just wanted to help out because of plenty of people on other threads have had the same problem. I really didnt just want to put this in the bug section for the quest because i did not if that is the proper spot. ssoooo i put it here.

Skyrim Thalmor[edit]

Hello!

I can contribute with one thing I've learned:

If you talk about worshipping with a Thalmor Justiciar on the road and choose the line "I believe what I want", then you will be followed "in secret" by 3 TJ with the authority to kill you. The only exeption is that they must do it in the woods, since the guards will take your side and fight the Thalmor to their deaths.

The thing is that I don't want to ruin anything on the original page. This has happened to me. I was cocky with a Thalmor Justiciar and all of them jumped me. Later I met three others that attacked me and when I searched their bodies I found a letter from Elenwen. She wrote that they had free hands to kill me, but that they would do so out of town, since the guards would turn on them.

Well, that's all for now /Jenny

I do apologize for the extremely delayed reply; at the time, I wasn't able to spend time on this site at all, due to how busy I was. Anyway, I've tested this, and have found it to be true. Additionally, I'd say we're probably not the first; I've had conversations with friends who just refer to the Justiciars as "those yellow hooded dudes". I can only assume they are referring to these agents of the Thalmor. If you haven't already added it, and if you are still checking this post, feel free to add it (if it hasn't been added already).--Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 04:51, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Blood on the Ice[edit]

I'm not sure how to edit and all that, but in the notes it says "If you speak to Wuunferth directly, instead of Jorleif, then Calixto will attempt to murder Arivanya in the Stone Quarter. If you choose to have Wuunferth arrested, then Arivanya will be found murdered. For the final showdown, a random, female NPC [verification needed — it can't be COMPLETELY random - please wait for the CK before adding NPCs to this section] will be chosen as the next victim." I've done the quest multiple times, and every time I accused the court wizard and had him sent to jail, Calixto was about to murder the Dunmer woman with long hair. I can't remember her name , but I'm pretty sure he tries to kill her everytime. Its not random. — Unsigned comment by 66.203.236.148 (talk) at 04:39 on 23 December 2011

I'm not Kalis Agea, but we've had several different reports on a possible victim, so that's why we're holding back from adding further information to the section until the CK arrives. See the article talk page for all possibilities - even if you have to dig a bit to find the right spots. :D --Krusty 18:01, 23 December 2011 (UTC)

Disambiguation Pages In Related Quests?[edit]

What is the policy for including disambiguation pages in a NPC's related quests section of their page? I'm editing Hjornskar Head-Smasher, and he is technically related to BOTH versions of the Battle for Whiterun quest (depending on who it is completed for determines his location after the quest), so I'm not sure what to do here. — Unsigned comment by Zmedaris (talkcontribs)

I simply added both versions when I encountered that problem. I don't think we have a policy for that though.--Alfwyn 19:24, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
That actually crossed my mind, but I figured it might be redundant in place of a disambiguation page that already points to both quests. Should I put both versions? Or leave the disambiguation? I don't know which is a better standard, haha. --Zmedaris 19:27, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
Using the disambiguation page has the disadvantage that the quest description isn't shown after the link, because it is only defined on the specific quest pages. --Alfwyn 19:40, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
I've added the description. elliot (talk) 19:52, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
Uhhh, I already had one in there. All you did was change it to something not as glorious :c --Zmedaris 22:22, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
No, I added it as a description that will be pulled from that page for templates such as Quest Link. elliot (talk) 18:43, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Well that's no fun... but I understand. --Zmedaris 20:36, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

How Much Detail In Articles?[edit]

As I'm going through dungeons and checking out wiki pages for them, I'm noticing a severe lack of details. For example, I just came out of Ustengrav, and the wiki article didn't even touch on all of the potions, gold, soul gems, and other miscellaneous goodies lying about the two zones (these are things NOT in containers). How far should detail be taken on these articles? Should I detail every single potion and other things found in every room of every zone? Or leave it sort of vague for length-sake? --Zmedaris 12:50, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
