Summary[edit]

This template will display fancy letters in the style of the gamespace in which it appears.

Parameters[edit]

Alfwyn/Sandbox
Parameter Scope Description
1 required The letter to display. Only capital letters are currently used in-game, so this should be entered as such.
lpfancy optional Which style (namespace) of fancy lettering to use. If not set it will use the default style for whatever namespace is being displayed.

Details[edit]

To add fancy letters to a page, start by adding {{LetterPic|letter}} anywhere that a fancy letter may need to appear. There are three common schemes to display fancy letters:

  • Always Use Lettering Appropriate to Namespace: To use the default style of fancy lettering, you don't need to do anything further to the Lore page. In Lore or Morrowind space, this will display plain letters; in other spaces, the appropriate style of fancy letter will be used.
  • Use Fancy Letters Only Where Specified: To use fancy letters only in specified namespaces, add {{#define:lpfancy|no}} at the top of the Lore page.
  • Use Fancy Letters Everywhere: To use fancy letters in Lore space as well as elsewhere, add {{#define:lpfancy|Namespace}} at the top of the Lore page. This would then use that lettering style in all namespaces, unless overridden.

In all cases fancy letter usage can be overriden locally when transcluding the Lore page. For example, if only a Skyrim book is using fancy lettering, but not the Oblivion version of it, you would add {{#define:lpfancy|no}} at the top of the Lore page, transclude as normal in Oblivion space, but use {{Lore:book name|lpfancy=Skyrim}} in Skyrim space.

Example[edit]

Assuming nothing is added to the top of the Lore page, {{LetterPic|A}}bcd expands to:

Oblivion Skyrim Other
Abcde Abcde Abcde
