Samalt

Samalt, a Redguard pauper, is a miner working in Polle Gold Mine.

He wakes at 6am and heads into the mine, where he wanders around for a couple of hours before beginning his work at 8am. He mines with a pickaxe for ten hours without a break, next to a gold vein in the main Polle Gold Mine area. Between 6pm and midnight he surveys the mine area and then heads back to the Miners' Shack for dinner. He eats until 2am before heading to bed once more. Like most other miners, once the questline is finished, he will pack his bags and leave the island.

Samalt wears green felt linens with an olive vest, and always carries his pickaxe.

When you first greet him, he reveals himself to be pragmatic about his poor life: "Samalt's my name. Life is tough here, but we get by. It's better than dead." Drunk Tom Albin will drop you a hint as to who first hear the "strange noises" when asked about the mine: "Oh, and I heard Samalt found something strange in the mine."
