Hostile?[edit]

Has anyone else had Zaria suddenly turn violent occurred after last update — Unsigned comment by 72.39.239.199 (talk) on 31 March 2012

As of update 1.6, there seems to be no innate aggression in Zaria. — Unsigned comment by 24.179.174.169 (talk) at 04:23 on 23 August 2012
Just installed Hearthfire....went to Grave Concoctions and she attacked me. I cast Calm on her and was able to interact, but I left right away. Haven't been back since. I'll have to investigate further. Stretch0069 (talk) 08:46, 21 February 2013 (GMT)
I got caught stealing from her and instead of the guards getting alerted, she just turned hostile, along with everyone else in the city except for the guards. Possibly related? — Unsigned comment by 98.195.68.143 (talk) at 21:34 on 24 May 2013
I realize I'm several years late, but I had a similar problem that seems unrelated to In My Time Of Need, but rather appears to be a bug in the Dawnguard expansion. I entered her shop 5 or 6 times and she was hostile each time until I decided to try drinking a potion of blood before entering on the 7th time. Sure enough, she was no longer hostile. Maybe it's just my copy, but it would appear as though she didn't get the memo when Dawnguard came around and said that being a late stage vampire no longer causes people to attack you on sight.Baconator96 (talk) 00:29, 26 June 2016 (UTC)
I'm necroposting too. I had a similar problem to Baconator96. I think I've been in her shop at least once or twice without her becoming hostile, but that may have been before I installed Dawnguard. I completed it on the Dawnguard side, and then visited her shop again, possibly for the first time after installing Dawnguard. She immediately became hostile, and actually chased me out of the shop and through Riverwood, before I figured out to cast Calm on her and hide. She went back to her shop. When I entered again, she was again immediately hostile, so I cast Calm on her and left. I'm also a werewolf via the Companions quests; I wasn't in wolf form, and I hadn't even transformed to and from that form for weeks, when she became hostile to me - but maybe that has something to do with it? 73.3.58.200 04:31, 1 August 2020 (UTC)

() I guess she was hostile in my case was I brought Serana into her store. Since others talk about blood etc, I guess she (Zaria) really hate vampires. (Version: Skyrim Special Edition) — Unsigned comment by 203.59.117.171 (talk) at 12:43 on 21 August 2021

Why is she essential for the entire game?[edit]

Not that I want to kill her, but it's strange that she's permanently essential. Seems like a bug in the same way as Derkeethus, since she has no involvement in major quests. Does anyone know why? Holden — Unsigned comment by 50.46.201.99 (talk) at 07:04 on 19 September 2014

Likely because she is a member of the JobHousecarlFaction, as all members of that faction are marked as essential even if they never become housecarls. She was likely meant to become a housecarl when Dengeir took over as jarl during the civil war (she has an exile to windhelm package as well), but for whatever reason it didn't make it into the game. --AN|L (talk) 14:46, 19 September 2014 (GMT)

Can't invest[edit]

It does not seem possible to invest with Zaria, despite information to the contrary found on the Merchants page. Tested on 360 with DG, DB, & HF installed.--149.160.118.171 23:50, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

I have the opposite situation, I could invest in her shop despite the merchants page telling me I can't. Perhaps this is due to the Unofficial Patch? I don't see what else in my modlist could affect her. --Gez (talk) 21:51, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
