Enhanced by Perk?[edit]

Does the Augmented Flames perk enhance the damage, or doesn't it? Anyone can verify it?— Unsigned comment by Torres (talkcontribs) at 21:56 on 26 November 2015‎

It is. For a magic effect to be affected by the perk, it must have the "MagicDamageFire" keyword. The hazard effect associated with the wall of flames spell has it. — Unsigned comment by 90.163.68.243 (talk) at 00:05 on 26 November 2017

How does this spell actually work?[edit]

The database entry for the spell does not list anything about it triggering the fire hazard spell. Does it? If so, how, because that spell has its own magicka cost, cast time, and so on? What is the actual resulting damage and behavior of the spell? It's not clear from reading the database entries or information on this wiki or others (including the creation kit) what the magnitude 8 "Fire Barrier" effect does, as opposed to the magnitude 20 "Fire Hazard" effect (both linked from their respective spell entries), including their respective tapers, much less how that relates to the spell's claim that it deals 50 damage per second. Does it deal 50 damage per second, before perks? How do perks like Aspect of Terror interact? According to the linked spell entries, only the "Wall of Flames" spell is affected by the Aspect of Terror perk, not the separate fire hazard spell. Quindraco (talk) 18:39, 21 May 2018 (UTC)

I believe the hazard is triggered through 'MAGFlamesBarrierImpactSet'. You should only need to look at the spell that you actually cast for the spell cost, in this case 'WallOfFlames', which costs 118 points of magicka. Both magnitudes correspond to the fire damage that is dealt. 8 points of damage would be dealt by the spraying action, something similar to Flames, while 20 points of damage would be dealt by the wall of flames itself. So, in total, if you were aiming directly at an enemy then 28 points of fire damage would be dealt (+ the respective tapering). Yes, this does not correlate with the spell description, and it is indeed a bug. I recently reported it to BGS as one of the new Creation Club spells is very similar to Wall of Flames, the major difference being that fireballs drop a wall of flames rather than the fire spray seen here. I did note this spell in my report, so hopefully this will get fixed alongside the new Creation Club spell, just as they have done for other Creations that are closely linked to vanilla assets. Based on my extensive observations of the aforementioned spell, I would say that Aspect of Terror not interacting with the fire hazard spell is correct. Hope that helps you.
