Movarth's Boots

Movarth's Boots should be added under light armor. I have no idea how to work the table, or what its refID is. Its got +15% more effective sneaking enchantment. — Unsigned comment by 70.48.57.87 (talk) at 15:04 on 27 November 2011

Linwe's Armor

it should be noted that the enchantments on his armor set are NOT fortify skill enchantments. When they are disenchated, they open new enchanting spells such as, shadowstrike and shadowstrenth which are much more potent than the ' fortify ' enchantments

Yea, and, unfortunately, those more powerful enchantments can not be applied to anything :( 87.228.24.249 16:45, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

Nettlebane

Isn't Nettlebane unique? --188.100.151.60 22:14, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

Yes I think so. Feel free to add it. 195.67.240.236 01:30, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

Nettlebane Replenishes Magicka? Is there a specific point during or after the quest that Nettlebane's scripted effect activates? I have tested the Nettlebane I received, and it does not replenish magicka at all. I have not completed the quest yet and use the Xbox. If it only activates at a particular time, I think that should be added to the description. --Amsuko 01:34, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

Can anybody confirm the magicka absorption effect at all? I haven't found anything in the CK. I have attacked numerous NPCs and monsters during and after the quest: nothing ... --Holomay 18:30, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

There is none, I'm removing it. There's nothing in the CK about it and testing ingame shows nothing. No point in keeping a rumour around. Warrior7 03:58, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

Location column?

Should there be a column for location? It doesn't have to be 'spoilery' just a name of a quest and/or zone Webrunner 15:33, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

Uniqueness?

What about a "not unique" column? Some items here, there is only one of. Others, there are multiples of. In my run through Labyrinthian, I found only one Drainspell Bow, but a half dozen Drainheart Swords. Indicating whether an item is truly unique would help inform whether you should disenchant it or hang on to it. (I don't know if the bow is really unique, but the swords are certainly not.) Diadem of the Savant

This is the reward from completing shalidors labyrinth. Is there really just one lying around outside frokis? 87.194.26.132 17:36, 11 December 2011 (UTC)

I have to ask the same question. I got it from Shalidor's Labyrinth as well. Torinir 06:03, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
If this item is available both from Shalidor's Labyrinth and Froki's, then it really cannot be considered a unique item, and should be moved to another page. Torinir 14:30, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
Yes, there really is a second copy just sitting around outside. I think this is stupid (it's meant to be a special quest reward, right?), but at least it gives me a second one to give to a mage follower. This does, of course, mean it's not actually unique and really doesn't belong on this page. It should probably be moved to Other Apparel section of the Specialty Gear page. --SushiSquid 21:03, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

() This diadem is considered Light Armor, but it seems that it WORKS with the Mage Armor perk. (the one that improves armor spells like Ebonyflesh, when not using any armor). I equiped Diadem, used Ebonyflesh, and tried to Equip Voelshun (Dragon mask that improves Prices, allows to breath underwater, etc, which is considered Light armor as well) but then my armor value droped down. Then I equiped Diadem again, and it rise up immidiatelly. Sorry my English, please CONFIRM this.(You can also correct my bad English :: (Scarvin - not logged in) — Unsigned comment by 93.185.4.135 (talk) at 18:29 on 1 January 2012

Yeah, it doesn't have the ArmorLight keyword even though it is Light Armor. The Mage Armor spell just checks for the ArmorLight and ArmorHeavy keywords. As long as you're not wearing anything with those keywords, it doesn't matter if you're actually wearing light or heavy armor. Of all light armor pieces, I know of only the Diadem of the Savant and Fine Armguards not having the ArmorLight keyword. I'm not aware of any Heavy Armor piece not having the ArmorHeavy keyword.
As an aside, I'll say that Fine Armguards and the Diadem of the Savant look great with some Master Robes. It's what I wear as a mage.--SushiSquid 21:03, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
This appears to be corrected. In patch 1.5.26.0.5 on PC the armor rating for this is 0 and it does not affect armor rating at all. Can anyone confirm this is other platforms? If confirmed, should update item listing.

Ancient Shrouded Armor

I'm curious if there is a graphical glitch with regard to the Ancient Shrouded Cowl when a khajiit wears it, or if it's for everything that isn't Imperial/Breton/Redguard/human-face-shaped. Ikari Gullwing 19:55, 19 December 2011 (UTC)

Noticed the same thing. It doesn't appear, and more interestingly, you can wear the regular shrouded cowl on top of it, having both items equipped. Not sure of all the repercussions (ie armor/enchantments stacking) as I never bothered to look. I'm fairly sure it does stack, but breaks the matched set perk.--24.114.255.3 19:58, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
The Ancient Shrouded Cowl is glitched; Visually, it isn't there, but it does confer the armor bonus. It also allows you to wear it and still wear another helm or hood on top of it regardless of type, and the bonus will not be broken by wearing anything else. Confirmed wearing full Ancient Shrouded Armor and various helms and hoods (Including Hide, Shrouded hood, apprentice hood, Dwarven Helm of Magicka, and Scaled Helm (Flawless)) on 360. 98.180.215.134 06:24, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

Bug: Drainspell Bow and Drainheart Sword

Both of these items can be disenchanted even AFTER you already know "Absorb Magicka" and "Absorb Stamina". It's just annoying to have two copies of these enchantments showing in the list. — Unsigned comment by 184.61.175.161 (talk) at 11:39 on 26 December 2011

Could be a different id. It wouldn't be the first enchantment to have more than one version. On a semi related note, I think the charge cost of drainspell is related to restoration skill. I say this because I only get two charges with the bow and my restoration is level 28, whereas my destruction is 49 and I get more than eight charges with the sword. Shrouded Armor

Will NPC's attack you if you're wearing the shrouded armor in public? I haven't tried this because I didn't want anyone attacking me. Lucien LachanceDB 04:27, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

No, but some guards and other characters may comment about your involvement with the Dark Brotherhood. Don't know if this is dependant on wearing the armour or not though. 24.150.119.54 19:45, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
If you're referring to the line "Psst, I know who you are, Hail Sithis." (Not sure if exact, but close enough) Then no, it is not dependent on wearing the armor. --Rohndogg1 09:02, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
Also, if in Dawnstar, people will comment about the Dark Door being used recently and your involvement with the door, not big, but just fun to notice. I didn't know what they were talking about till they said I was seen using the door, and was like, "Ohhhhh!!! The Dark Brotherhood!" 50.15.108.188 04:57, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

Weapon descriptions

The Drainblood Battleaxe, Drainheart Sword, and Drainspell Bow appearance descriptions read awkwardly, should they be changed? I have not seen the weapons and so I do not want to change the wording myself. --Velyanthe 18:25, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Suggest altering the description to "Ancient nord <weapon> with a spectral appearance"? Considering the wielders are already spectral to begin with, that description should fit. — Unsigned comment by 98.180.215.134 (talk) at 06:17 on 1 January 2012 (UTC)
I've noticed that weapon descriptions seem to be spotty when it comes to adding the appearance of the item. Should that information be added in the notes or should it be added in the type section? Xenoiaos 18:22, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
I would use the Notes column, rather than the Type column. There's more space, it would look better on the page as a whole. ABCface 19:11, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

Steel Battleaxe of Fiery Souls

The enchantment isn't a dual "Soul Trap" and "Fire Damage" the way it's implied in the current version, it's a (unique?) enchantment with its own name, "Fiery Soul Trap" (which can be stacked with a second enchantment if you have the perk). Fiery Soul Trap is missing from the site's effects pages ATM, so the current links need to stay until that gets added. Aliana 22:40, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

It is an enchantment named "Fiery Soul Trap", but that enchantment consists of two separate effects, namely a Soul Trap and a Fire Damage effect. There is no effect with the name Fiery Soul Trap, so there is no need for an effect page with that name. And the information currently on the page about the weapon's effects is completely accurate.
There's still the separate question of how exactly to handle enchantments like this -- but in fact that's part of the much bigger unresolved question of how custom enchantments even wok. Specifically, are your custom enchanting options tied to specific enchantments or specific effects? And if they are tied to specific enchantments, how come the magnitude of your custom enchantment isn't forced to always be the same as the original enchantment? There are some messy details hiding underneath the enchanting system and revamping the current documentation on pages such as Enchanting Effects and Soul Trap without understanding those details is premature. --NepheleTalk 23:17, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
Yes, it's awkward: the distinction here is the definition of "effect", which is different from OB. Fiery Soul Trap is an enchanting effect (ENCH 40003), which are different from MGEFs, and that's the case for all enchantable effects even if they also exist in other forms, eg Muffle has an ENCH, and an MGEF, and a SPEL, (and more). On reflection, although this particular "compound effect" is unique there are actually quite a few of them, with the obvious/common ones being the "Fortify <School> and Fortify Magicka Regen" set. You get the same behavior there: disenchanting such things doesn't teach you "Fortify <School>" and "Fortify Magicka Regen" as two new enchantments that you can apply separately, it teaches you a single compound one. So the answer to the first question at least is definitely "specific enchantments", ie ENCH entries. As far as the "how come?" part goes, is it really any different (conceptually, at least) than custom enchantments in OB? You don't have distinct MGEFs for every combination of eg 1-99 Mag and Dur and Area, you just have one and the parameters are "on" the weapon/etc itself. If what you mean is "how does it work internally?", I'd agree with you that it's MGEFs there, but that doesn't (I think) contradict anything in the direction we're headed: we know that an *item* can hold at least 3 MGEFs (Otar etc), even if they come from a single ENCH, so this is basically just more of the same thing: the ENCH defines what you can learn from / add to an item; it's composed of 1 or more MGEFs; and, erm, I think that's pretty much it, isn't it? An item can hold up to 2 ENCHs, which may expand to more than 2 MGEFs.
How best to handle that, I don't know: duplicating the pages for everything that appears in more than one "style" of effect is obviously a Really Bad Idea, and it's completely unneccessary for the majority of effects anyway. But the ENCH-only compound effects simply aren't the same as "Effect A and Effect B on a single item" *from an enchanting perspective even if they are internally*, and there are significant gameplay differences between the two, so they really shouldn't be treated as if they were, if someone can find a good way to explain it. Notched Pickaxe

Is it really necessary to go into detail of where to find the Notched Pickaxe? I would think that saying that it is at the peak of the mountain is plenty of information, rather than saying how to get there. --Velyanthe 05:08, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

By all means, go ahead and change it. As long as it's clear where it is, the more succinct, the better, especially in a large table like this. Robin Hoodtalk 05:16, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, I responded without realizing there was an edit and reversion in there. I think a compromise would probably do the trick. Perhaps shorten it to being at the tip of the mountain with no path leading there. Does that make sense? Robin Hoodtalk 07:23, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Yes, that does make sense, thanks. --Velyanthe 16:55, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

() I don't know if this is worth mentioning on the page or how it would be fitted in, but it might be worth adding that although the pickaxe can be disenchanted & another 2 pickaxes enchanted, the effect only appears to be listed for one axe when dual wielding. Raising smithing abilities?
I was smithing with it equipped and nothing changed, I get the same result when I disenchant and enchant another weapon with a grand soul gem and 100 enchanting. What's the deal with this thing? — Unsigned comment by 50.92.74.94 (talk) at 08:52 on 19 January 2012
Did you have something else equiped to fortify your smithing as well? The notched pickaxe does not seem to stack with other fortify smithing objects. (Eddie The Head 08:56, 19 January 2012 (UTC))

Bolar's Oathblade

Does anybody else see Bolar's Oathblade in their game as 14 damage and not 11 as listed here on the wiki? I checked in coc qasmoke to verify that there aren't leveled versions of the weapon, there is only the one but for me at level 24 I see it as a 14 damage one hander, enchanted to do 25 points of stamina damage and to cause 30 seconds of fear on creatures/people level 12 or lower. — Unsigned comment by 24.130.175.194 (talk) at 05:31 on 31 December 2011

I think these numbers are base numbers and your skills modify them. I just received Eduj and Okin and they both have much higher numbers on the damage side. (19 in both cases - 1 hand = 60). I'm very unsure about this as they could be leveled (Level = 54). I've seen this in several other semi-reward items like these. Philbert 00:21, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Unenchanted Thieves Guild Armor

Is Dragon Priest Dagger unique?

I was under the impression that it could drop from any unnamed Dragon Priest NPC, which would make it common and not unique. ThuumofReason 18:15, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

It is not dropped by anyone but it appears to be placed as a loot. I've found mine in Ysgramor's Tomb, and it has nothing to do with Dragon Priests, not even a word wall. When I found it, it was on a table, or a desk, maybe. And if the Dragon Priests use the dagger, it will make us an easy day fighting them. --Joshua.yathin.yu 18:20, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
And what do you mean faction specific? --Joshua.yathin.yu 18:23, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
They do drop, and there also some that are placed. Forelhost alone will get you a bunch of them. Aliana 19:01, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
No, they aren't unique, they can be found as random loot, or are dropped by Dragon Cultists. Rare, but not unique. Kahvozein's Fang is, however. — Unsigned comment by 67.9.84.231 (talk) at 23:13 on 24 May 2012

Are they unique?

If General Tullius' Armor, Vittoria's Wedding Band and party clothes are considered unique, what about Ulfric's clothes/boots/bracers, Wedding dress/wreath/sandals, Ilas-Tei's Ring and Aela's shield? Are they unique? (ZekunD 11:51, 7 January 2012 (UTC))

Gilded Wristguards

I saw mention of this on the talk page for The Katariah, so I kept an eye out for them as I was on the ship. Imagine my surprise to find them there, and no mention of them on the wiki! They're kind of odd; the look of the item in the menu is the same as that of the Nightingale Gloves, but the look when you drop them and wear them is completely different. I've added the item to the page. HOWEVER, someone on the PC needs to find them and get proper stats. While I've got the Weight right, and I'm pretty sure the Value is right, I know for a fact that the Armor Rating shown for them is wrong. I have 41 in Light Armor, as well as 2 Agile Defender and Custom Fit. The 15 I put down is the Armor Rating it showed for me in-game while wearing a Ring of the Minor Squire (I forgot I had it equipped when editing the page, and don't feel like re-editing it). I figured it would be better to have a placeholder number than to leave that particular field empty. I'd give the appropriate information (including item id) myself, but I'm on the 360 and have no way to get that information. Swk3000 16:43, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Well, there is a already a redirect SKyrim:Gilded Wristguards to the Specialty Gear page, further information can be found there. But since the item can be only found in one place, it might indeed belong to this article. --Alfwyn 16:49, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
I'd say it belongs here. Specialty Gear is gear that is used by a particular faction, but multiple copies of the items themselves are almost always available. I would say that since the Gilded Wristguards can only be found in one location, they should be regarded as unique. Also, the page you linked to had the base Armor Rating, so I'll do a quick edit to change that. Swk3000 16:52, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Shiv

Why is the shiv on this page? It's quite easy to pick up multiple copies during the escape quest - you can get the one you are directed to, but during the escape, every escapee is carrying one. DeeLow 21:04, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

But you can't get anymore copy if you have missed. --Joshua.yathin.yu 10:34, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
Can the shiv really be classified on this list? theres nothing really unique about it, and one can find many copies of it. Vos 09:44, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
The paragraph at the top of the page doesn't really offer a concrete description as to what a "Unique Item" is, perhaps somebody with more experience on the UESP could come and check it out and make a decision? Ess-Tee 14:41, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
While the shiv may not be unique in the traditional sense of the word, it's unique in the sense that it's only required for one particular quest and there are only a very small number of them available, all from quest-related NPCs...you won't just find shivs lying around dungeons. I think this page is probably the best fit unless we want to start a "Rare Items" page, but I think that would only muddy the waters. Robin Hoodtalk 00:55, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Shrouded Hand Wraps and Shrouded Hat

The Notes section for these items makes it a point to note that these are considered armor, but that they are unaffected by either Armor skill. Does this mean that wearing either will disable Mage Armor's Armor Rating bonus? 206.29.182.142 10:34, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

They're not considered armor. They're just clothing pieces that happen to still have armor value. Whether Mage Armor turns off is based on keywords, and neither of those two has the ArmorLight or ArmorHeavy keywords that shut Mage Armor off.--SushiSquid 10:49, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Rocksplinter

When doing a search for 'Rocksplinter' I was taken to the Quest Items page. I couldn't find it there so I came here. It's on this list. I think it's in the right spot already, but can someone fix it so a search takes users to the correct page? 173.85.55.118 20:49, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

There is no way to obtain it. Odfel says in a dialogue, he has Rocksplinter, but it can't be looted after killing him. The only reference in the game data is as property in the "quest" DialogueShorsStone, but I can see no use of it there. --Alfwyn 15:10, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Longhammer DPS Decription Revised

I've removed the portion of the Longhammer description claiming that its dps eclipses that of a Daedric warhammer as factually untrue. With their base damage differences the Longhammer only delivers 272 damage in the time it would take a Daedric warhammer to deliver 270 damage. Given that the actual damage delivered is multiplied off of the base damage as weapon skill increases and damage perks are acquired, the modest dps damage that the Longhammer might afford early in the game disappears as a player moves to their ultimate one-handed melee fighter build.--DagmarH 23:38, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

Re-added the note because your logic is wrong. Do the math. No matter how you do the math, this is what it comes to. The Longhammer's base damage is 21, and the base damage of a Daedric Warhammer is 27. If you convert this to DPS, then 21 * 0.78 (atks/sec) = 16.4, 27 * 0.6 = 16.2. Seems strange, but this is true. Let me tabulate the results (hold your mouse over the underlined words to read more details on it):
Weapon Base APS Base DPS DPS DPS DPS
Daedric Warhammer 27 0.6 16.2 32.4 22.78 45.55
The Longhammer 21 0.78 16.38 32.76 24.93 49.86
I know it looks odd that the *2 multiplier makes less of an effect than the Smithing bonus. That's because The Longhammer's DPS has a 1.3 multiplier, so every additional point of damage has a greater effect on The Longhammer than on a Daedric Warhammer. • JATalk 00:56, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Jak. Ironically I was about to change the note again because I ran through the calculations in various configurations and it reflected what you said which is that the DPS difference actually increases with the damage multipliers. That being said I appreciate that you kept the subjective language from the prior description out as it had no place in the note (i.e. one of the most powerful weapons in the game). DPS may seem more meaningful in a vacuum, but the reality is that as a practical matter actual DPS doesn't play out that way in a game like Skyrim where the ratio between damage per hit and an enemy's health will often make damage per hit more valuable than damage per second.--DagmarH 01:28, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

Mythic Dawn Robes - two versions?

It seems the game has two different versions of the Mythic Dawn Robes, both of which are on display in the Dawnstar Museum. They do not stack, and although they both are shown as 0 armor class, one of them shows me 33 points less AC delta vs. my current armor. 188.192.188.111 11:37, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

Drainblood Battleaxe

With patch 1.5 I could disenchant the Drainblood Battleaxe. It's not a unique enchantment (as with the Drainheart Sword and Drainspell bow). Proven on the PC by "rezzing up" a Blade of Woe. After disenchanting the Battleaxe the Blade was no longer available for Disenchant.

The Gambit

I have had this pickaxe from early in the game and had it for so long I forget where I got it from. This pickaxe is called "The Gambit". It has an enchantment on it with the words underneath the enchantment bar "Do You Feel Lucky?". The item can not be disenchanted. Has anyone else every seen this pickaxe, where it came from? Does anyone know what this pickaxe does, what the enchantment is? I can't seem to figure out it's purpose, if it has one. If anyone could watch out for this and give some comments, it would be nice. — Unsigned comment by 216.118.129.157 (talk) at 18:56 on 22 May 2012 (UTC)

According to CSList and the CK, there is no record of this item existing in the base game. If it came from anywhere, it would be a mod you have installed. I would check documents and pages relating to any mods you have installed for it. Or, you could open up the CK, load the mods you have installed, and you should find it listed under weapons. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 18:56, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

Zephyr + Quick Shot = Really bad shot.

When I used Zephyr with the Quick Shot perk, if I released the arrow after it was fully knocked, it would fly two whole feet and drop. I found out that the knocking animation got faster, but the actual knocking (where it effects the flight of the arrow) took the same amount of time, resulting in losing your visual "cue" for firing. Not sure where this bug would be listed, since Zephyr doesn't have it's own page.--DaedalusMachina 02:35, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

I too have noticed this, not with Zephyr as I don't have DG, but this also effects all bows. Having the Archery Perk Quik Shot doesn't actually increase Knocking time it just speeds up the animation. I believe it may be fine with crossbows as you can't semi-Knock a crossbow.KingK 14:11, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

Blade of woe

Isn't the Blade of woe unique? 86.174.83.120 00:51, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

It is already on the list. — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 00:58, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

Invisible Arms

While wearing Linwe's Armor, and using a bow, when I notch an arrow, my arms are gone and I can see straight into the gloves. Just the arm, I can still see my hands. Is this a graphics bug? Or just me? *PC* Lord Irvine 07:01, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

This is already noted at the bottom of the page. — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 07:04, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
It wasn't very clear, so I moved the notes into the notes column, should be easier to see now. — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 07:18, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

Blade of Sacrifice

made noise like not dagger and it can`t be enchanted — Unsigned comment by 78.60.67.100 (talk) at 03:52 on 28 July 2012

I've added a note to its entry saying it can't be enchanted. Thanks for the info. ABCface 05:44, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
let me explain what i mean, when i wrote, what this dagger make noise. all other daggers (maybe all) except "Blade of Sacrifice" are silent and player can do multiply silent hits if he is not detected. But this dagger make noise like sword. if you in stealth mode swing just in air when enemy near, you will be at once detected. but it is dagger, not sword --78.60.67.100 01:18, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
