Jorgen and Lami's House in locations list?[edit]

The listing of locations gives Jorgen and Lami's House in Morthal as one of the locations for Song of the Alchemists, but the only book I can find there is Songs of the Return, Vol 56. Can the author of that part of the location list have confused the two books, as Lami is the quest giver of a radiant quest Rare Gifts, about finding the book Song of the Alchemists for her, or am I just not looking well enough? --MortenOSlash 18:12, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

Well, according to game date (which is also where the information came from in the first place), there really is a copy of Song of the Alchemists in this interior cell. However, I don't know if there is a requirement for this book to appear at said place. Another, very unlikely, possibility might be that the book's coordinates lie outside the boundaries of the cell. I have gone back to look again, after I finished the quest to find the book for Lami, thinking maybe that would have placed it there visible, but no luck. I see some anonymous user tried to edit it away, but I would rather have it there until anyone can confirm its exact location (or confirm otherwise). --MortenOSlash 19:35, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
Spent a considerable amount of time looking inside the house; found nothing. --Unoumbreo 13:00, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Also just spent quite a while nosing around - the book is not visible for me on PC prior to completing the quest to return the book to Lami. Will check again after I turn in the book to her. Also was not in her shop. Amalyn 00:06, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

() spent time looking as well. two books in the house, neither of them were this book. — Unsigned comment by 98.176.242.147 (talk) on January 14, 2012 23:19

Same again. Only book I found was Songs of the Return, Vol 56 on a table. I tcl'd outside the house in case it was above or below, but nothing. ComaDivine 03:52, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
There is a quest called "Rare Gifts" where Lami askes you to retrieve the book. So I assume it cant be found in her house until you complete that quest. — Unsigned comment by 98.26.36.160 (talk) at 02:49 on 20 January 2012 (UTC)
My dear Dr. Watson, if you had really read this discussion, you would have found your theory has already been hypothesised and tried, and not found more probable than any other theory yet. (And would you please sign your contribution to the discussion next time? It is easily done by adding four ~ at the end.) --MortenOSlash 21:06, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

I am the one who wrote the first version of Jorgen and Lami's House description so I went over that house pretty thoroughly but did not find this book. I will head over and check it again and do the quest and check it and then get back. Coronus 01:13, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

OK. I checked the house and shop and used tcl to check the locations both before the quest and 33 days after quest completion. I could not find the book. After the quest, Lami carries the book in her inventory. I do not know much about the game data but it is possible that it is a reference to a location that someone in Bethesda wanted the book to be placed after the quest but it was never coded due to more pressing issues in game development. Regardless, the book acquired in that quest is from one of the other guaranteed locations and therefor irrelevant except as a footnote to the Bard's College location. IMO the location should be removed. If it were not for the game data as its source, I would remove it myself but, as it is, I will await a consensus on this. Coronus 05:36, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
I agree on the decision to wait for more data. Maybe the construction kit will give us some information when it is released? --MortenOSlash 05:47, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
The only use of the disabled book seems to be in the quest script for Rare Gifts to get at the data for the book itself: Favor110GiftList.AddForm(Alias_QuestItem.GetRef().GetBaseObject()) --Alfwyn 14:34, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
Kind of like a reminder, a "note to self" thing, you think? --MortenOSlash 16:32, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
Yeah. Since the quest can be given by multiple NPCs, they look up the home of that NPC and then the item there which is also listed at the LCRT FavorItemRefType to find out which type of item to match when returning it. --Alfwyn 19:54, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

() I have had an odd bit happen where I did Lami's SOTA book quest & then I stole my book back. Later on after joining Bard's College the copy of SOTA (and The Buying Game) were still counted as stealing (which I have read is not supposed to be/once you join they are supposed to be able to be legitimately taken/not theft). So I steal it and now it's stuck in my inventory as a quest item (just SOTA/not Buying Game)...I'm pretty sure Lami is the only quest linked to this book so, annoyed and looking to fence it I kill her (since talking to her didn't spur an option to hand the book over again)-and the book is STILL stuck in my inventory as quest item. Is this item bugged, or did my stealing the other copy I had (taken from Anise's Cabin) back after completing the quest somehow cause this as a glitch (maybe something to do with this Lami's house designation & it not being there now I stole it back so game thinks quest is open even though it's been done, or maybe this is the copy the game "wants" you to give her)? Really weird...naturally my response will be to kill Lami's husband as well & then everyone possible in the Bard's College for leaving such a nuisance out to be stolen in the first place & irritating me in general-I'm on PS3 version, by the way. — Unsigned comment by 216.232.216.138 (talk) at 15:10 on 30 April 2013 (GMT)
