Appropriate Editing[edit]

I am not sure how exactly to edit this appropriately. I would much prefer someone who has actually been working on the wiki for a while to do this. The article says that there has been no quest associated with Sild, but the Companion member may ask you to kill him during the "Trouble in Skyrim" quest. Evidently he may ask you a number of different quests. This happens to be one of them. There is a small bug as well. I have previously killed Sild while exploring dungeons. It keeps a quest arrow above his dead body regardless. My journal will also not update stating that I have killed him. I used "Reanimate corpse" which did not work. Console commands of resurrect and kill also proved to be unsuccessful. TrusVrun 18:59, 26 November 2011 (UTC)

Fixed.[edit]

I didn't know since I had not joined the Companions just yet. I added the quest, though. — Unsigned comment by 65.73.38.226 (talk) at 08:46 on 29 November 2011

If you killed Sild the Warlock before you got the Companion Quest[edit]

You can "resurrect" Sild if you have killed him as I did before receiving the companion quest to off him. I had trouble at first and it would not work but I solved it. There is some other object ID that comes up instead of Sild's when I mouse clicked him. Sild's ID is "000347c6". I had to use my mouse wheel to scroll to his ID and "resurrect" worked like a charm and the Companion quest completed after I killed him a second time. — Unsigned comment by 98.231.164.45 (talk) at 02:56 on 13 December 2011

~If resurrect command doesn't work I found simple way to repair this bug, just write in console command "setstage cr05 20" which set quest to position after killing Sild. — Unsigned comment by 81.219.42.189 (talk) at 10:31 on 18 August 2013

Killing Sild[edit]

In addition to using magic to kill Sild, you can also just shoot him with a bow. You don't even have to wait for him to finish talking. Ninetails 22:45, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

Which makes the quest kind of silly. I nocked up an arrow and shot it into his guts without him even dodging -- hell, without him paying any attention at all. A mudcrab would have been more observant. Sild the Warlock gets the Idiot Extreme prize for Skyrim, that's for sure. --174.6.51.17 20:23, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

Sild already dead![edit]

I'm surprised no one else encountered this! I went to Rannveig's Fast and was pleasantly surprised to find new enemies. Their words pointed to an excited new mystery and I fell into the trap, giving me a minor heart attack. I managed to pick the lock only to find the bodies of Sild the Warlock and his assistant. Naturally I thought, what killed them? A Master Vampire? I explored all the corridors and only managed to find more Subjugated Ghosts and finally the Word Wall, which worked fine for me. Has anyone encountered this problem? I feel a bit cheated I missed Sild's monologue! At least I got his journal for some flavour. My Dragonborn will go on thinking the Ghosts killed him in righteous justice or something. --Alkorri 16:20, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Sild has a vampire with him[edit]

My quest to go here was brought on i think with a dawnguard radiant quest. Between the two of the one being the top tier vamp, this fight is infuriatingly hard. Have suddenly noticed a big jump after finishing dawnguard, almost every fight with more than 1 opponent and not some low level 1 shot creature turns into a fight to the death/spam of heals and/or potions. My gear is far from weak either but shock stuff just decimates me. — Unsigned comment by Killerchronic (talkcontribs) at 00:32 on 13 May 2013

If notable at all, this would be more relevant on the quest or place page than the NPC page, since it has to do with being sent to that location for a separate quest. — ABCface 15:55, 10 June 2013 (GMT)
Actually, with Dawnguard installed, there can be a vampire with him even without any other related quests active. The last two times I went there, the Master Vampire had already killed Sild and my fight was with the vamp instead. No clue what was it doing there. --Iconoclasta (talk) 11:04, 1 September 2013 (GMT)

Rannveig's Fast a Dead End for Dawnguard Quests[edit]

xbox 1x platform. At Fort Dawnguard, was told to "Speak to Florentius, he has something for you". Dialog with Florentius had no mission, but in quests, I had a new "Rescue" Quest. Kill the Master Vampire at Rannveig's Fast. Fell for the trap, picked the lock on the cage and killed Sild, his assistant was already dead. The quest destination arrow was pointing to the floor on the right of the cage near Sild's dead assistant. Nothing there. Tried to find another lower level, but nothing discovered. Cleared the Fast of all ghosts and Draugr. Map does not show the Fast as cleared. No further quests available from Dawnguard, Fast remains empty.67.169.188.189 19:31, 3 March 2020 (GMT) Paul D.
