Can't Finish Quest[edit]

When I started this quest, only one location popped up on my map, the one for the Ring of the Beast. I figured once you finished that one the other location would pop up and let you complete it. The second location never came up, it simply says retrieve the Ring of Erudite from a woman who doesn't exist, and now I can't do anymore side quests for the vampires.—MacK 15:09, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

I don't know how many locations are possible for this quest, but perhaps the ring is in one you haven't discovered, or like the book retrieval quest for the Orc librarian (I forget his name) in the College of Winterhold, it may be in the chest on the Katariah or something.--Playerseekingbugs 05:30, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
MacK - if you have Dragonborn installed, the ring may be in Solstheim, in which case, you won't get a location indicator in Skyrim. I had a different problem. The Ring of the Beast was randomly located at Rift Watchtower, which, when approached gives a floating indicator in the woods. The ring is unobtainable, and therefore, I am forever locked out of completing the vampire side quests. — Unsigned comment by 69.124.229.196 (talk) at 16:35 on 6 March 2013 (UTC)
rag - My ring spawned on a Legate with 0% pickpocketing possibility rendering the quest unfeasable — Unsigned comment by 89.156.15.153 (talk) at 17:51 on 20 March 2013 (UTC)

Ring of Erudite[edit]

This item doesn't have it's own page yet, but it should at least be on a unique items page for Dawnguard. Merging unique items and artifacts pages between Dawnguard and Skyrim makes some very long pages even longer and more irritating to dig through if you don't have a precise name for an item or a mouse. I like the separate items page that Knights of the Nine has. And I think the rings from this quest fit the criteria for being Artifacts. They are unique in appearance and only appear once (or not at all if you don't side with the vampires I suspect). The Ring of Erudite has a uniquely strong enchantment, and would be one of very few pre-enchanted items that fortify both Magicka and Magicka Regeneration if the second effect really worked. I tested the ring during day time as a vampire, and it did not boost regeneration. The Ring of the Beast has a uniquely strong Fortify Health enchantment and boosts claw attacks, which is at the very least a highly rare enchantment in the game.--Playerseekingbugs 05:46, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

Edit: I tested various apparel with Vampire Lord transformations, and can now confirm that the two rings and the two amulets you get during two Vampire side quests are the only items (to my knowledge at this point) that continue to have an effect during transformation. The Fortify Magicka remains in effect, and perhaps the Fortify Magicka Regeneration effect only comes into play when you transform.--Playerseekingbugs 07:37, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
It's now listed on the Unique Items page. If there are any additional changes you feel need to be made, please feel free to do so. Robin Hoodtalk 03:07, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Quest won't start[edit]

The vampire has no options for it. I a few perks on my vl tree, up to summon gargoyle and mist form. Just finished Beyond Death. He only has the merchant service. And if I go into lord form all but Serana attack me. — Unsigned comment by 64.111.230.121 (talk) at 09:52 on 9 April 2013 (UTC)

Radiant Quests[edit]

Completed all of the Vampire's main quest. Still not receiving any of the radiant quests, only for one of my characters. My Altmer one. Have three, one other-a breton- is doing the vamp side and received this ring quest after the Bloodstone Chalice. Grelaria (talk) 06:13, 10 April 2013 (GMT)
